Statement from Cathy Hu, participant in "SOS Global walk."

My name is Cathy Hu. I migrated to Canada three years ago. I remember the first article that I read in an English class was about Terry Fox. Terry Fox initiated a fundraising run "Marathon of Hope", with only one real leg and one artificial leg, for the Cancer research in Canada. His story touched me deeply and inspired me to participate in the "SOS Global Walk".

At present, there are millions of people in more than 40 countries around the world who practice Falun Gong and the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance.

I believe that "Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance" advocated by Mr. Li Hongzhi is a great contribution to humankind.

However, this wonderful belief is banned in China only because the number of people who practice Falun Gong exceeds that of the Communist Party. In order to suppress Falun Gong, the Chinese government has controlled the media to defame Falun Gong and tortured Falun Gong practitioners. So far over 270 men, women and children have died from beatings or tortures.

Every day and every minute, practitioners in China endure great suffering. Injustice cannot be redressed in China.

I walk to Ottawa for the courage and hope of Falun Gong practitioners in China who continue to believe in "Trufulness-Compassion-Tolerance".

Today, with the freedom I enjoy in this great country of Canada, I walk to Ottawa to appeal for the Falun Gong practitioners in China, to appeal for their urgent rescue!

I believe all kind-hearted people around the world share the same wish: may the world be a more wonderful place. I believe, with more "Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance", mankind can achieve this goal.
