[Minghui Net] According to a special report from the Mingbao Newspaper on April 28, 2001, the Guangdong Province "Three Controls" headquarters announced that in the past week, the mid northern part of Guangdong Province was hit by sequential rainstorms and tornadoes and the devastation was severe. At the time of the report, the rainstorms had already caused 11 deaths and a direct financial loss of two hundred million Yuan RMB.
It was reported by the Sun Newspaper on June 12, 2001, that the strip in the triangle continent, Zhujiang, Guangdong Province, met with successive rainstorms recently that were disastrous, such as vast water logging and mud slides. A tornado, which hasn't been seen in the area for many years, reappeared in Guangzhou the day before yesterday. It brought severe damage to many stores in a matter of seconds. So far, it has caused 20 known deaths.
In the city of Shantou, Guangdong Province, a severe rainstorm caused a mudslide that buried and killed four women and children at a garbage disposal plant. Haifeng County, which is close to Shantou, was also hit by the rainstorm. In less than a day, the average rainfall over the whole county reached 20 cm (about 8 inches). Many villages and towns were completely submerged in water. More than eight houses collapsed in the county and more than eight thousand people were besieged by flood.
The meteorology department claimed that the severe rainstorm weather stayed only within the province during the recent period of time.
The reason that the disasters in Guangdong Province are endless is that it is the top Province in persecuting Falun Gong in the whole country. Since July 1999, following the orders of Jiang Zemin, all levels of the government in Guangdong Province have actively taking part in the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners. The notorious and vicious places of persecuting Falun Gong practitioners were Yingde Prison in Guangdong, Dongwan Detention Center, Fanyu Public Security Bureau, Chengnan Police Station, the First Detention Center in Gaozhou City, Chigangjie Detention Center, Chatou Labor Camp in Guangzhou, City Police Station in Guangzhou, Tangxia Lockup in Tianhe District, Xiaodao Women's Labor Camp in Chatou, Chatou Prison in Guangzhou, Tianhe Lockup in Guangzhou, South China Normal University, Jinan University, Shaping Control and Reeducation in Heshan, Sanshui Labor Camp, Sanshui Prison in Shenzhen, and the Futian Police Station.
Lin Guoxiong, one of the writers of "The report of body and mind improvements of Falun Dafa practitioners from Guangdong Province," was sent to a mental hospital. A retired female professor from the South China Industry University and Falun Dafa practitioner, Mei Qianfen, and two other practitioners were kidnapped when they took a tour before the New Year. Her family members asked around everywhere for her whereabouts and begged people for help, but the only answers they got were "missing." After several months, they discovered that she was in brainwashing class of the "higher education system." Even more tragic, lawless officials in Guangdong Province are responsible for the deaths of four practitioners.
Lai Zhijun, who was the Vice President of Fenggang Town, Dongwan City, Guangdong Province, as well as the deputy director of the People's Representative, was illegally detained in Dongwan Detention Center. Later on, he was illegally put into the Provincial Labor Camp in Sanshui City on March 29, 2000. After about four or five days in the labor camp, he was tortured to death.
Gao Xianmin, male, 42 years old, was a Dafa disciple in Guangzhou, Guangdong. On December 31, 1999, when he was having a picnic at a park in Guangzhou, he was arrested and detained in Tianhe District Lockup in Guangzhou. While he was detained, police used a towel to cover his nose and poured salty brine down his throat. Not until January 18, 2000, were family members told by police of his death.
Two other practitioners who were tortured to death were Zhu Derong from Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province, and Huang Yaoying from Gaochengxinjie, Gaozhou City, Maomin District, Guangdong Province.
The founder of Falun Gong talked about the principle at a conference in Europe on May 30, 1998: "When heaven punishes humans, they think it's a natural phenomenon." "People don't take these phenomena to be gods' warnings: 'You cannot do that.' People merely consider them natural phenomena. Nothing that happens in this world is coincidental. Just take a look: If any nation, region, or individual does something bad, some special phenomena will immediately follow. Humans' disasters and everything that befalls humans is the result of their own conduct." (not official translation)
However, Jiang Zemin, who has been branded a "human rights scoundrel" by Amnesty International, and his clique paid no attention to this merciful admonishment which is a matter of the fate of the Chinese people.
The Tianhe Sports Center was the place where many Falun Gong practitioners were detained during the July 20, 1999 crackdown. On the morning of June 6, it opened a more than twenty day caricature exhibition, denouncing Falun Gong as the theme. On that day, according to the report from the South Metropolis Newspaper, "It is Rare that Thunderstorms Frighten Guangzhou." The earth-shaking thunderstorm was centered over East Hill in the town of Tianhe. This is another example that shows the principle "When man does not have virtue, natural calamities and man-made disasters will abound."
