According to a June 13 report from Taipei's Central Press, China has experienced droughts in the north and floods in the south. Hubei Province, situated in central China, has not been left out. Heavy rains have pounded some parts of Hubei since June 8. The rains have left 12 people dead and caused several hundred million Yuan (Chinese currency, approx. 8 Yuan = US$1) in damage. The China News Agency reported that heavy rains have hit large parts of Hubei Province, affecting all except the northwest and southeast areas of the Province. In the past six days, downpours dumped more than 50 centimeters (about 20 inches) of rain on 22 cities and counties, with 13 of them receiving some 200 centimeters (an amazing 6 ?feet, or 80 inches) of rain. Over one million people are affected. 600,000 hectares (over 240,000 acres) of farmland were damaged. 13,000 houses collapsed and many foundations were washed away or destroyed by the raging waters.
According to a report from the China News Network on June 13, eighty-one towns in the Jingzhou City area of Hubei Province suffered from the rainstorm. 160,000 hectares (about 65,000 acres) of farmland were damaged, among which 65,000 hectares (about 26,000 acres) suffered severe damage. 19,000 houses were under water, 1,900 had collapsed, and over 1,000 houses suffered other significant damage. Six people were killed, 45 hurt. The rain and floods caused damages of 750 million Yuan (over $88 million) of which 680 million Yuan were agricultural losses ($80 million ). On June 8 and 9, an unprecedented heavy rainstorm hit Jiangling, Gongan, Jianli, Shishou, Jingmen, and Shashi, in the area of Jingzhou City, dumping over 20 centimeters (almost 8 inches) of water on average, 37 centimeters (almost 15 inches) in some areas.
All this is because the evil forces in Hubei Province have been following "Human Rights Scoundrel" Jiang Zemin in their persecution of Falun Gong. They keep on committing crimes and have killed 7 Falun Dafa practitioners. Now their vicious deeds have provoked the roar of the gods. The crimes are beyond tolerance. Human beings may not believe in retribution, but heaven is going to punish them until they have no alternative but to believe it.
Peng Min (male) was a Falun Dafa practitioner in Wuhan, Hubei Province. He was arrested for appealing in Beijing and for printing Falun Gong flyers. During the time he was detained in the Qingling Detention Center in Wuchang, he was severely beaten. On January 9, 2001, he was left paralyzed as a result of the torture, losing all feeling in his body below the neck. The ulceration in his back left a large, gaping wound. He died on April 6, 2001.
Peng Min's mother, Falun Dafa practitioner Li Yingxiu, also died in May of 2001, at the No. 7 Hospital. She had been arrested for revealing the truth about the persecution Falun Gong has faced from Jiang Zemin and his group of scoundrels. When her husband (also a practitioner) was taken in handcuffs from the Hewan Labor Camp to visit her body in the hospital, he found blood on her head, leading him to suspect foul play in her death.
The five members in Peng Min's family are all Falun Dafa practitioners. His father is currently being detained in the Hewan Labor Camp in Wuhan City. His sister Peng Yan was arrested with him and is being held in the No.1 Detention Center in Wuhan City. His brother Peng Liang has been jailed and sent to the so-called "transformation classes" many times.
Falun Dafa practitioner Nan Yinchu in Xishui of Hubei Province was detained three times; severely beaten and sent to labor camp for one year, where he ultimately died from the mistreatment he received. When he was detained, the policemen beat him to the ground. Holding him down by the neck with their heavy leather boots, the policemen kicked ferociously at his head and body, leading to severe liver damage. After spitting out a large amount of blood one night in February of 2001, Nan left the world.
His wife has been detained for over 40 days for practicing Falun Gong exercises with other practitioners. His son was dismissed from the Southwest Oil Institute for appealing for Falun Dafa, and was detained twice for a total of 9 months for not giving up his practice. His elder daughter was arrested three times for appealing and practicing the Falun Gong exercises and was jailed for six months. His younger daughter was sent to labor camp for the same reason. A family was thus destroyed for not giving up their faith in "Truthfulness, Benevolence, and Forbearance."
Luo Jianzhong, an official in the government in Hubei Province, took part in a discussion about distributing Falun Gong flyers in the downtown area of Shiyan City. He also went to Tiananmen Square to appeal for Falun Gong. He was removed from his position and expelled from the Party.
Authorities in Jingzhou City, where the rains caused the most severe damage, have actively participated in the persecution of Falun Gong. Many lawless policemen show no human conscience and are venting their personal hatred employing the lowest means.
Falun Dafa practitioner Yang Xianfeng was arrested and taken to the Chao Yang Police Station in March of 2001, while telling people the true stories about other's experiences with Falun Gong. The policemen handcuffed her to the bar on the window and beat her up. In the evening, one of the policemen called over a prostitute and forced her to watch him perform sexual acts. Seeing Yang's refusal, he wrapped her in a blanket, threw her to the ground and beat her with an iron bar. He also jumped up and down on her body. Her spine was broken. The policeman said, "The higher authorities have said that any deaths from beating will be treated as suicide." When Yang was sent to the No. 1 Detention Center of Shashi City, she would not cooperate with the police, refusing to allow her picture to be taken. The police twisted and broke her right arm. She fainted due to the sharp pain. The policeman poured chili juice in her eyes and stuck lit cigarette butts into her nostrils. Her eyes and nose were thus damaged. When the police searched her house, they took 1000 Yuan, all the money she had (average monthly income of a city worker is 500 Yuan).
"All the methods employed by the evil political gang of scoundrels in the Chinese government are the most despicable, the most evil, and unknown to history--they have reached the extreme, they've really outdone themselves. Never before has a government been used to doing these scoundrel things." (from Teacher's article: Teaching the Fa at the 2001 Canada Falun Dafa Cultivation Experience Sharing Conference)
