[ Minghui. Net] I am a New Zealand citizen and a Dafa practitioner. Because my son is working in Hong Kong, I live in Hong Kong most of the time. Before the Chinese New Year, I heard that Jiang Zemin and his followers had ordered local police departments to detain all Dafa practitioners who refused to write repentance letters in order to prevent them from going to appeal in Beijing. I decided to go to Beijing to ask the Authorities to release all detained Dafa practitioners and tell them not to commit more wrong-doings.

I entered China on January 21st. The next morning, I took a flight to Beijing. That night, I took a taxi to Tiananmen Square with a banner and my passport. I wanted to walk from Nan Chi Zi Street to enter the Square. But before I reached Nan Chi Zi Street, an armed policeman stopped me and requested me to show my identity card. I showed him my passport. Just a few steps further, a group of armed policemen came to inspect my ID again. I again showed them my passport. One of the policemen asked me: "Why do you come here at such a late time?" I said: "Is it forbidden to come to the Square?" Another policeman took the passport to examine it, and at the same time, he asked: "Are you a Falun Gong practitioner?" I answered: "Does my passport say I am a Falun Gong practitioner?" He stared at me and said: "I only want you to answer if you are a Falun Gong practitioner." I asked him: "Do you know what Falun Gong is?" They began to search my bag but they found nothing related to Falun Gong so they let me go. I thought it seemed impossible to enter Tiananmen Square tonight.

I only walked a few steps more; another group of policemen asked me to show my ID. Behind them, another group of policemen came to me so that there were over ten policemen in front of me. One of them said: "Looking at your face, I can tell you are a Falun Gong. Come with us." I didn't move. Then one of the policemen started to curse and asked me to curse with him. I said: "Are you worth wearing the police uniform? What kind of policeman will curse like this and teach others to curse? My face just feels red for you." He said: "I just want you to curse to see if you are a Falun Gong, yes or no? Say it!" I said: "Don't push me too much. You searched me, you slandered me and now you want to arrest me. I don't want to talk to inhuman beings anymore. Don't ask me again." They took my passport aside and checked it carefully for a long time. I was calm and my heart was not moved. Finally, they returned the passport to me.

I continued to walk to the Square. On the way, I was stopped many times by many groups of policemen to check my ID. At a place close to Jinshuiqiao (east of Tiananmen Square), a policeman who looked like an officer took my ID. Immediately, a group of policemen surrounded me and began to push me into a police van. I saw that I was close to Tiananmen Square, so I tried to break from their hands and at the same time I used one hand to take out the banner. Before the banner was fully unfolded, the policemen grabbed it. I could not take it back so I just shouted loudly: "Falun Dafa is Good." The policemen tried to cover my mouth and dragged me toward the police van. They pushed me into the back seat forcibly and kicked me. I used all my power to get off the van, but the policemen pushed me down and locked the door and windows.

After some time, they decided to escort me to another police van. As soon as they opened the door, I stretched my head out and began to shout: "Falun Dafa is righteous. Falun Dafa is righteous." ... One policeman used his overcoat to seal my mouth forcibly. Five to six policemen escorted the police van and drove me to the fifth Department of Beijing Police Station (the Administration Department for going abroad and entering China). Two policemen held me tightly between them all the way to the destination.

Later, the New Zealand Ambassador came to see me. He tried very hard to get me released in order to go back to New Zealand. Due to his help, finally, five policemen escorted me to the airport to send me back. I asked them to let me change flights in Hong Kong because my luggage was at my son's home there. But the policemen said, "Hong Kong belongs to China. You will never be allowed to enter China again." Before boarding, I told the policemen: "Thank you for accompanying me here. I only hope you will remember that Falun Gong is good. Falun Dafa is righteous." The policemen looked stunned. They looked at me dumbfounded and did not say a word.

This is my experience of validating Dafa at Tiananmen Square on China's New Years Eve, from being arrested to being released. By the way, I wanted to mention that while I was being interrogated, the policemen asked me if I had watched the "self-immolation" affair on the TV. I said, "Yes, I watched it. But they can't be Falun Gong practitioners. I can be the best witness. On China's New Years Eve, all of Tiananmen Square was heavily guarded. Groups of policemen stood five to seven steps from each other. All the traffic and pedestrians were searched and checked. The ID checking began from outside the Square. For the short distance I walked (toward the Tiananmen Square), my ID was checked over ten times. Even one like me holding a foreign passport could not approach the Square, so how could a few Chinese practitioners enter it? Even if they entered the Square, how could they have enough time to light a fire, then sit down to pull their legs to a lotus position under the surveillance of so many policemen? It is sheer nonsense. All practitioners know this clearly. A Falun Gong practitioner can't commit suicide. Committing suicide is wrong. ..."
