The following events occurred in Xiahuai Town, Pingshan County:
Xialiu Village:
Cui Xinhui practiced Falun Dafa exercises outdoors on December 30, 1999 and was cited for doing so by the village secretary Cui Jiji. He was detained by the county police station for over 20 days and illegally fined 1000 Yuan. Also because he went to Beijing to appeal in December 2000, he was again detained. His home was ransacked, and his TV, two desks, and one cupboard taken away.
Han Wenwen was imposed a fine of 300 Yuan by the town police station because she also practiced the exercises outdoors on December 30, 1999. In addition, she was fined 1200 Yuan for going to Beijing to appeal. Her house was ransacked and over 1000 Yuan worth of furniture were taken away.
Han Lianting was fined 1000 Yuan because he refused to write a pledge disparaging Falun Dafa.
Cui Jingliang , Han Qiufeng, Feng Tongshu, and Li Taoni were fined 300 Yuan due to practicing outdoors on December 30 , 1999. Moreover, they were detained by police and their homes were ransacked for going to Beijing to appeal in December.
Han Shitang and Zhang Fengwei were detained by the town government for 10 days because they suspected them of attempting to go to Beijing. During the detention period, they were brutally tortured and fined 1000 Yuan.
Hui Qing was fined 300 Yuan for practicing outdoors on December 30, 1999.
Han Tongshu was detained at the town police station for 20 days and fined several thousand Yuan for practicing outdoors on December 30, 1999.
Cui Hongzhi was fined 300 Yuan for practicing outdoors on December 30, 1999.
Cui Changjiang: On July 20, 2000, the village secretary Cui Jiji went to his home looking for him and he was not home. Cui Jiji forced his wife Liang Xiuping (a non-practitioner) to find him. Later he called over ten people from the police station to arrest the whole family, including the couple and two kids. Cui Changjiang and his wife were fined 500 and 300 Yuan respectively. Cui was detained for 3 days. On January 2, 2001, the town government officer went to Cui's house again. Since he was working outside and not at home at the time, they went to his wife's work place and asked her to find him. At that time, they found some Dafa materials in her bag, so they took her away and detained her in the town government for over 10 days and confiscated some of her furniture. Only after they extorted 3000 Yuan, did they return his wife and furniture.
Cui Hongjun and Han Jingwen: One night in November 2000, they were arrested suddenly by the town police station. After interrogation, Han was fined 5000 Yuan and released. Cui is still detained.
Lijiagou Village:
Guan Cuizhu's home was ransacked on January 1, 2000. 1500 Yuan of cash and furniture were confiscated. She was detained for 15 days and extorted 1000 Yuan by the police station and another 1000 Yuan by the town government.
Bailin Village:
Yan Yingxue, female, was fined 2000 Yuan by the town police station for going to Beijing to appeal in December. She is still detained.
Tian Cuizhu, a 57 year-old female, was fined 3000 Yuan for taking part in a Fa conference in January 2000 and was detained for 1 month. On December 22, she was detained again by town police for going to Beijing to appeal and fined 2000 Yuan.
Feng Hongpeng, a 29 year old male,was extorted 3000 Yuan of penalty for taking part in a Fa conference on January 2000 and detained for 36 days. On July 20 he was detained again for one month because he refused to write a pledge. On December 24, he went to Beijing to appeal. He was caught and sent back under escort. Half-way back, he escaped. Now he wanders around and cannot go back home. The town government confiscated all of his furniture.
Qi Junlian, female, was fined 3100 Yuan for refusing to write a pledge.
Feng Sique, a 30 year old male, was imposed a fine of 2000 Yuan by the town government and 1000 Yuan by the police station because they found Dafa books in his home. He was detained for 15 days.
Zhao Haiwei, male, was fined 2500 Yuan for taking part in a Fa conference in January 2000.
Jiandukou Village:
Dong Junting was detained and fined 2600 Yuan for going to Beijing to appeal on December 22.
Luojiashe Village:
Feng Sanmei, a 31year old female, was detained for 35 days for taking part in a Fa conference on January 2000. During the prison term, she was beaten and fined 1500 Yuan. On July 15, she went to Beijing to appeal and was caught, detained for one month, and fined 300 Yuan. On January 1, 2001, she was detained for 20 days for refusing to write a pledge.
Jian Chen (Feng Sanmei's husband) was detained for 35 days for attending a Fa conference. He was tortured and fined 1500 Yuan.
Feng Qiang, female, was detained for 37 days for attending a Fa conference and fined 1100 Yuan. On October 28 she was detained for 3 days because she refused to write a pledge. On January 1, 2001 she was detained for another 15 days.
Luo Meiting was detained for 40 days by the town police station and fined 1000 Yuan because she went to Beijing to appeal in January 2000.
Pangjiapu Village:
Qi Suqing, a 30 year old female, was arrested by the police on December 24 on the way to Beijing. She escaped quick-wittedly. Now she cannot go home. The town government extorted her family members with 2000 Yuan of penalty.
