"If you don't tell us your name and address, we won't get our bonus."

On the morning of December. 20, 2000, my husband and I were arrested and loaded into a police van because we unfolded a banner and spoke out about Falun Dafa on Tiananmen Square. We were brought to the backyard of the police branch office of Tiananmen. There were already many Dafa practitioners. They called out together: "Falun Dafa is good", "Return innocence to Falun Dafa", etc. Police kept beating practitioners; even 50-year-old women were not spared. We were not allowed to eat, drink and go to the toilet from morning until four o'clock in the afternoon. Because the number of people was increasing, we were loaded into large buses and sent away. At about 6:10pm, I arrived at the Miyun County Detention Center [in Beijing], located behind the county police department.

The policemen numbered us and interrogated us in small groups. Two police officers took me and other two women who were over fifty to a police vehicle and brought us to a yard in a police station. We were interrogated separately and were asked for our addresses and names. I told them mine and they recorded it. The other two women didn't want to tell their names and addresses. The police kept interrogating them. At about midnight, they brought us back to the detention center. We were locked up in a cell after being searched and frisked. Two women supported a practitioner with their arms and walked into the cell. She had been beaten cruelly. She told us, because she didn't want to tell them her name and address, the police used sticks to beat her and kicked her. Later, when they discovered her heart was beating too fast and she probably couldn't bear any more, they spared her. Another female practitioner told us more about this practitioner. In order to obtain her name and address, three policemen took turns slapping her face, which caused it to become swollen. After she still refused to tell them, they forced her to take off her cloths leaving only her underwear. They made her stand outside in bare feet in the freezing weather. She still didn't say anything after standing outside for two or three hours, and being harassed by one male police officer. There was another female practitioner who was shocked on her head and face with an electric stun baton; they even put the baton into her mouth to shock her. One old woman was shocked so much that her skin around the neck was blistered and peeled off. On the second evening, female practitioners' bloodcurdling screams echoed down from the hallway...the police started beating practitioners again ...

Are these today's "People's Police"? One policeman said: "If you don't tell us your name and address, we won't get our bonus." Driven by power and money, they have tortured unarmed Dafa practitioners excessively. I felt much pity for them. They have lost their human nature. Their depraved behavior was horrifying to hear.

Perhaps you still don't understand why Dafa practitioners could remain so firm in their belief under such brutal suppression. They are the forerunners safeguarding "Zhen Shan Ren [Truth, Compassion and Forbearance.]" If one person tells a lie, it's called cheating; however, if a nation doesn't allow its people to tell the truth, it will lead to the fall of that nation. The evil force has beaten and tortured a countless number of Dafa practitioners, and even persecuted [over 140 as of February 2001] practitioners to death. Their conduct is depraved to the point of showing no remorse over torturing people to death to possibly setting them on fire. Many practitioners have stepped forward because they can't allow the mass torture and killing of innocent people to continue. They stepped forward in order to awaken the conscience of the people. They believe that "Zhen, Shan, Ren" will bring real happiness to mankind.

Among those currently detained Dafa practitioners, some were caught on the train and refused to curse their Teacher and Dafa; some were arrested at home while chatting with other practitioners; some have been transferred to several places and are still in prison even after the length of their terms have expired. To protest this injustice, some practitioners have refused to be transferred again. However, the evil forces forcibly took the practitioners away using armed soldiers. In order to be set free without condition, some detained practitioners have been on a hunger strike for a long time. The evil forces used the armed soldiers to force-feed practitioners. They didn't stop the force-feeding even when the tubes had been wrongly inserted into the trachea. We heard that all the detention centers in Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province, are not going to release any Dafa practitioners before the Chinese New Year. We hope all people in the world will come to learn the truth of Falun Gong. Family members, friends and relatives of Dafa practitioners, please demand your legal rights, actively resist all kinds of depraved conduct, and help family members to be released from the evil places of torture and be reunited with the family!

My experience of being illegally fined and sentenced to forced labor

I arrived in Beijing on Nov. 30, 2000. On December 2, I was arrested, and taken to the Daqing liaison office in the Sun Island Hotel in Beijing. On December 7, I was sent back to Daqing by my company. On December 8, I was sent to the Daqing Detention Center. Li Chunting, who picked me up in Beijing, told me, "We have tried to come to pick you up earlier, but we didn't get the money for the trip. We have tried to arrest your sister and brother. Your sister didn't have money and your brother didn't want to give money and hid himself. He even turned off his cell phone. We know he has money since he owns a factory. We plan to confiscate his money and property if we find him. However, Beijing has hastened us so we have to come to pick you up. Since we can not find your brother to get his money, we will take your money." I had to agree because I didn't want my family members to be involved in my rouble. They wanted to confiscate the notarized money that my company was going to give me. But my company had originally told me that the money wouldn't be given to me until next February. Li Chunting said, "Falun Gong is special. We could take it out now if we want to. Where is the notarization certificate?" I told him my son kept it. He went and took it. On December 25, when they interrogated me, local police Li Zhongjun and Staff Yu Xiuzhen from my company came and brought me a savings certificate of 62,000 Yuan [about US$7,300, average monthly wage in China is about $60]. It was 83,000 Yuan (to end my employment contract with the company and to compensate my lifetime service for the company) when I endorsed it at the notarization office. Why? Li Zhongjun handed me a bunch of fine receipts: one of them was a guarantee fine of 10,000 Yuan (fined by my company); the other 11,000 Yuan included the travel expanses, and other expenses. Three people picked me up and returned with me. They were Li Chunting, his wife, and a local policeman Li Zhonghui. I asked them for my notarization certificate. The certificate was notarized at the Daqing Judicial Dept. notarization office, and I had the right to keep it myself. They told me my certificate had already been canceled as I had the saving certificate. I said I haven't received the sum of the money that I was supposed to receive; I'd need the notarization certificate to claim it. They told me, "Forget about that money. The company has confiscated that money. It has been already good enough that you are given 62,000 Yuan."

I stayed in the Daqing liaison office in Beijing for five days. My hands were handcuffed every day. On the way back, I had to wear handcuffs for the duration of the trip by train. The handcuffs were locked to the seat. On the next day, my arm became swollen and wasn't able to move around.

During the time I was detained at the Daqing Detention Center, I went on a hunger strike (from December 22-25) to protest. After I was transferred to the Saqu Detention Center, I went on a hunger strike again (from December 28, 2000 to Jan. 1, 2001). I was sent to the hospital after I vomited blood twice. I was forced to accept an IV infusion and a blood test. My life was in danger. The director of the detention center released me uncondionally. He notified the local police office in charge of my case and my company. The police office found my brother and my sister. Mr. Li, a manager at my brother's company, told my younger sister, "I give you your elder sister. Go home and recover well." My sister asked, "Is my elder sister released then?" He said, "Yes." On January 5, the police station called and asked me to sign a release form. My brother brought me there. After I signed the form, I was asked if I planned to go to Beijing again. I didn't promise. He then asked me to write down I wouldn't go to Beijing before the Chinese New Year. I said I didn't plan to go to Beijing before the Chinese New Year. Then they asked us to sign a written promise. We signed it. They let me go home. On January 8, I was asked to sign a release form again. When I arrived at the police office, they tricked me into signing an agreement to be sentenced to forced labor for 3 years (Li Zhonghui told me this afterwards). Then at noon, I was sent to the Saqu Detention Center, Daqing City and waited there to be sent to the labor camp. I am still illegally detained in the detention center up to now.

There are many Dafa practitioners detained here, they all have had similar experiences to mine. We ask all people of righteousness and conscience in the world to pay attention to what is happening to Falun Gong in China. We ask the human rights organizations in the world to investigate and to stop the illegal actions of a few people in China who have abused their power and surpassed the law.

Exposing the depravity of policemen Liu Hui, Shi Shijin, Dai Junyan and Zhen Feng

Currently in Tiananmen Square, policemen can receive over 1,000 Yuan [more than two months' salary of a regular policeman] for arresting one Dafa practitioner. The number of arrested practitioners from other regions has been recorded in Beijing. The more practitioners from a region are recorded in Beijing, the more the local government of that region will be fined and held responsible. So all manner of games of buying favors and influence are being played out in Beijing. Rrecords can be removed through special influence or, paying bribes of 10,000 Yuan per person, or 17,000 Yuan for two persons.

It costs 300 Yuan a day, paid by a practitioner, to stay in a detention center in Beijing. The police also confiscate Dafa practitioners' personal property and assets. In all the detention centers in Beijing, Dafa practitioners on hunger strike have been forced to receive IV infusions. Haidian District Detention Center encourages prisoners to beat Dafa practitioners. At night, they brutally beat every part of Dafa practitioners bodies after drenching them with ice cold water. The Pinggu County Detention Center didn't allow Dafa practitioners to eat, drink and sleep, and psychologically tortured them. The Shijingshan District Detention Center authorities have also beaten Dafa practitioners. The Tuanhe police station in Daxing County, hung an over sixty-year-old female practitioner on a tree at night, and let a vicious dog out to terrorize and bite her. Associate director Liu Hue gave the order to handcuff two young sisters to a tree for 5 days, and didn't allow them to eat, drink, sleep and use the toilet. A police station located on the way from Daxing County to Langfang [County of Hebei Province] has beaten Dafa practitioners, and didn't allow them to eat, sleep or go to the toilet. In the Sun Island Hotel, Daqing liaison office, Shi Shining from Daqing Oil Company treated Dafa practitioners very brutally. He smashed a chair in order to force the practitioners to hand in their banners. Staff members there also treated Dafa practitioners very viciously. Zhu Guo from Daqing City Police Dept. seized Dafa practitioners' property and credit cards. He had a very vicious manner and he denied everything he had done afterwards.

On all the trains to Beijing, the police are very "enthusiastic" in arresting Dafa practitioners because it's a 700-Yuan reward for catching a Dafa practitioner. They force people to undergo searches and often ask people to curse Master Li. If one doesn't curse, one would be accused of being Dafa practitioner and then arrested. Dafa practitioners have to pay all expenses incurred by the the people who came to Beijing to pick them up, both from the work places and the local police stations. They have suspended practitioners from work and withheld their salaries. They've used different kinds of illegal ways to gain windfall profits at the expense of the practitioners. Some authorities forced Dafa practitioners to cover their cellular phone bill of over 1,000 Yuan. They purposely ate at expensive restaurants. Sometimes, it's almost 1,000 Yuan for one meal.

Policeman Dai Jun of Daqing Detention Center beat Dafa practitioners and caused injuries and bleeding to the practitioners' heads.

At the Saqu Detention Center, Dafa practitioners went on hunger strike. They were forced-fed twice a day. One policeman named Yan Zhenfeng threw a Dafa practitioner to the ground upside down. That practitioner couldn't stand up for quite a while and one of his arms still felt uncomfortable until today. The ribcage of an over sixty year old practitioner was sprained and dislocated. They have called the armed police to force-feed Dafa practitioners. They searched practitioners and the cells periodically. There are no evils things that they had not done.
