Derby is a large city in England. On the morning of December 8, 2001, practitioners from the cities nearby Derby came to St. Peter's Cathedral, which is situated at the center of Derby, to spread Dafa and clarify the truth. Around 1pm, the mayor and assistant mayor of Derby came to visit the practitioners. Mary, a local practitioner, had written previously to the mayor about the situation in China. The mayor replied to Mary, stating that she would stop by and pay a visit to the Dafa promoting activity. The mayor kindly chatted with practitioners and expressed her deep concern about the situation of Falun Gong practitioners. She also asked detailed information about a practitioner's sister who has been sentenced to a one-year forced labor camp term. The Mayor's visit drew the attention of many residents. The Mayor also gladly took pictures with practitioners.

Many people asked for Dafa information and signed the appeal letter. In less than 3 hours more than 3000 copies of Dafa flyers were distributed. Many people were shocked at the brutal persecution of Jiang Zemin's regime against peaceful Falun Gong practitioners.

All local radio stations and newspapers carried reports of the Fa-spreading activity. A person passing by commented, "England needs more of this."
