(Clearwisdom.net) Wang Weidong is a 31-year-old male practitioner who worked at the Jiaojie Construction Assembly Factory in Acheng City. Around January 1, 2000, he went to Tiananmen Square to appeal for Falun Dafa. He was beaten up by police, illegally detained in Xicheng District Detention Center and subjected to unimaginable torture. Several days before October 1, 2001, perpetrators complicit with Jiang Zemin's persecution of Falun Gong picked him up from his home with the excuse of "needing to talk with him." They did not let him go until 10 a.m. the next day. These same people frequently came to check up on him in the evening.
Jiu Yinglin, secretary of the Politics Department and Party committee of the factory and Wang Zhongwei, chief of the Jiaojie Town Police Station, threatened Wang Weidong and tried to force him to write letters renouncing Falun Dafa and guaranteeing that he will no longer practice. His employers were forced to dismiss him from his job, and he was given only 130 Yuan (Yuan is Chinese currency. Average monthly income for an urban Chinese worker is about 500 Yuan) as compensation for his basic living needs. From November 2000 to February 2001, local government agents extorted money from him three times, swindling 4,100 Yuan from him in total.
