(Clearwisdom.net) With regard to the evil's ever escalating interference and sabotage, many practitioners have gradually recognized that for cultivation during the Fa-rectification period, more emphasis should be placed on eliminating interference from the evil. However, there also exist some problems. For instance, when some practitioners encounter interference, they attribute (unintentionally, perhaps) some of their conduct that does not conform to the Fa to interference from the evil and simply disregard it, thus covering up their attachments and failing to improve.
I think this shows a lack of understanding of Teacher's words in the article, "Fa-Rectification and Cultivation": "...If a problem isn't caused by our own attachments or mistakes, then it must be that the evil is interfering or doing bad things... When a problem arises, we have to examine ourselves first to see whether things are right or wrong on our part...." Not examining oneself internally first when problems arise will directly result in a halt to one's Xinxing improvement. Teacher said in "Lecture on the Fa at the Washington, D.C. International Conference": "Evil beings look specifically for your thoughts that contain attachments in order to strengthen them and achieve their aim of taking control..." Therefore, we should be clear that although the evil's persecution is not justified by the fact that we have attachments, nevertheless, the persecution probably reflects omissions that we still have. Improving our Xinxing and achieving the state of non-omission should go hand in hand with and complement eliminating the evil.
Teacher points out in the article "Take the Middle Way": "Because of disciples' differences in understanding, some disciples always go from one extreme to the other. Whenever they read the Fa I have written they take extreme actions, thereby causing new problems."
If other practitioners find mistakes in my understanding, please kindly point them out.
