When I exchanged ideas with fellow practitioners recently, some practitioners often modestly said things like "I did not do well, I still have many attachments, and my level is too low..." etc. I think that, in such a step during the Fa rectification, we should no longer use such words during experiences sharing among practitioners. Of course, we need to be modest, but when saying such words, aren't we having some omissions for the evil to take advantage of?
Some attachments exist because Teacher wants us to "to practice cultivation while conforming to everyday people as much as possible" (Eliminate Your Last Attachment(s)). They will exist as long as we have not reached consummation. They will be eliminated bit by bit as we approach consummation. At the moment of achieving consummation, they will be assimilated.
However, some other attachments are those that we have to let go of. My understanding is that although seemingly modest, aren't the words we mentioned earlier actually part of the point that Teacher made when he wrote, "Having humanly fostered the evil demons, you allow them to capitalize on the loopholes in the Fa" (Expounding on the Fa). If you agree that these "humble" ideas [and low value you place on your cultivation level] are yours, they will become deep-rooted as time goes along. Then they will create obstacles and interfere with you. If you cannot have a strong righteous mind, you will feel these thoughts becoming stronger and stronger. This is because every attachment is an omission in certain dimension(s). These attachments are black substances, which are compatible with the evil. As a result, the evil will come over to control and strengthen the attachments. The attachments and evil can even work together to hinder your eliminating them and thus weaken your righteous mind. This is one reason why we have sometimes had less than desirable results or experienced significant interference. Thus, we must rectify our own dimensions when eliminating evil during the Fa rectification. With a strong, determined, and righteous mind all the time, we first eradicate those evils that strengthened the attachments, and then eliminate the attachments. In this way, our own dimensions will be rectified. If you can do this, how will the evil dare to act recklessly against you? When we really achieve "Cultivating until no attachments are left" (Hong Yin), our dimensions will be golden and shiny. The evil will disintegrate immediately if it enters one of them. In this way, we can strive forward in the most powerful way, eradicate all the evil in the three realms, and "Assisting Teacher in his journey in this world" (Hong Yin).
As I wrote down these understandings of mine, different notions came across my mind one after another, some even considering these aforementioned understandings as nothing. I think they are also interference, so I eliminated the evil as I wrote these down.
