The annual Human Rights dialogue between China and Australia will be held in Beijing on October 29, 2001. Falun Gong practitioners from Sydney and Canberra held a peaceful appeal in front of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Canberra on the morning of October 25, 2001.
Practitioners held SOS banners, persecution posters, and a wreath as they stood silently in front of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. One staff member from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs came out and accompanied three practitioners to hand in an appeal letter to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In the afternoon, practitioners met with one of the Australian delegates. He said that he would mention the Falun Gong issue to the Chinese government and had prepared some cases. He emphasized that China should improve its Human Rights status. At the end, he asked for more information about the persecution.
