1. XXX. I am a 43-year-old Falun Gong practitioner in Sanhe, Hebei Province. In order to make the truth known to people around the world, as our benevolent Teacher said in the new article Rationality (http://clearwisdom.net/eng/2000/Aug/12/JingWen081200.html) I disclose here how I was arrested and beaten after appealing to the Chinese government concerning Falun Gong.
On April 1, 2000, there was a video picture exhibition called "Science: Abolish Superstitions" at the Military Museum in Beijing. The exhibition on Falun Gong was full of fabrications and propaganda. In order to validate Falun Dafa with my personal experience and the benefits I received from practicing Dafa, and to prevent more people from being misinformed, I went to the Military Museum in Beijing on April 2. Local police upon learning where I reside, detained me. They took me back to the Sanhe police station later that afternoon.
While at the Sanhe police station, Director Huang yelled and swore at me. He handcuffed and threatened me, "See how I will deal with you when we go back to Huangzhuang". When we were back at the Huangzhuang police substation, Huang ordered his subordinate to cuff my hands around an electric pole in front of the station. After one hour, they changed me to a different position. They then ordered me to remove my coat. I was only allowed to have underwear on. I was again handcuffed with my hands behind my back and ordered to kneel down in the yard. Huang asked me: "Is your Master good or not?" I replied, "Our Master is good!" Then he asked: "Do you still practice Falun Gong?" I said, "I do!" He said: "Do you know you are not allowed to practice Falun Gong in this country?" I said, "Yes, I know, but the governments decision is wrong."
He said: "Now it is under the Governments governance. If he does not allow it then you cannot practice it. You are the enemy to the Government, do you understand?" Then he said: "Do you know what AUTOCRACY is?" I said: "No." He said: "You will get it soon." After kneeling on the ground for almost 40 minutes, he asked a person to handcuff me back to the electric pole again. Then they went to play cards and watch TV. Later, Huang left.
Huang returned around 9P.M. He walked back and forth in front of me while holding a cup of warm tea in his hand. Standing arrogantly, he asked me, "Will you still practice Falun Gong?" I said, "Yes, I will." Suddenly he became enraged, and ordered a person to pull me into the office. They forced me to take off my trousers and thermal undergarments . It was extremely cold at that time. I was handcuffed and forced to kneel down on the freezing ground with only thin underwear on. They began to record the autocratic "trial". I recalled there were Director Huang, Associate Director Niu, people from the local government and other subordinates. Totally there were around ten people. Huang asked me: "With whom did you go to Beijing?" I said, "Nobody." Before I realized what was happening, Huang suddenly grabbed my hair, dragged me down to the ground and tried to shock my hands and head with an electric rod. But the rod did not work and they thought it must need to be charged. Then they charged it up and began to shock me again. When the electric rod was close to my hand, it suddenly bounced back shocking Huangs hands and almost hit the phone on the desk. The rod did not work the way it was supposed to. Huang forced me to kneel down on the ground again. He stepped on both of my ankles with his boots while swearing at me using dirty words. He tried to force me to curse our Master Li and Dafa, but I refused. He angrily ordered a man to beat my buttocks using my belt and said, "I dont think she will disobey me. Beat her hard." After every ten strokes, they would ask me to curse our Teacher, but I refused each time. They kept on beating me so hard that they broke the belt. He yelled to the man to use a stronger one. The man used a thick rope to continue beating me. When one man became tired from beating me, another took his place . This continued until midnight. My entire posterior was black and blue and bloody. It was unbearably painful. Later they ordered me to put my clothes back on. The person that was on duty that night ordered me to sit on a chair and handcuffed my right hand to his bed. Early the next morning I was handcuffed to the electric pole outside again. On April 3, I was sent to the county detention center.
The above account is what the government officials who enforce the law have done to a kind woman who just wanted to let people know about the true situation of Falun Gong.
From the Spring Festival until now, I have been arrested five times and taken away from my home twice They said it was because I am still practicing Falun Gong and they are afraid I might go to Beijing to appeal. I have been illegally detained for 60 days. They forced my family to write a pledge and fined me 3000 Yuan (RMB).
2. My name is XXXI. On June 8, 2000 I went to Beijing to appeal. I was arrested and put into the Chaoyang District Detention center in Beijing. Two days later I was taken back to the local police substation in Xinji. One evening Director Wang Zhengdong sent over a man named Baiwan Hou, hired to provide his services for torturing Practitioners. He tied me up with a rope and asked me if I would still continue practicing Falun Gong. I didnt say anything. Then he kicked and hit me. My chest and back became bruised and swollen; my arms were black and blue, and the bones in my feet were broken. I began a hunger strike to protest. I was released on June 22, 2000, on the sixth day of my hunger strike.
3. XXX is a citizen in Sanhe City and a Falun Gong practitioner. She was arrested and sent back to the local police substation in Xinji because she went to Tiananmen Square to defend Dafa on July 18, 2000. The police in the station used an electric rod to shock her all over her body. She became bruised and injured from her face to her lower legs from the electric shocks. One of the policemen that tortured her was Xinyu Lei.
4. On Feb 29, 2000, Director Wang Zhengdong from the Xinji police substation forcibly removed all the clothes of Meng Zhaomin, a Falun Gong practitioner, and handcuffed both his hands around a column. He stripped another practitioner, Pan Zhengfang and took him outdoors to the entrance of police station. He forced him to squat down and handcuffed him under an advertisement board. The practitioners were handcuffed outside on the cold, freezing, snowy covered ground with nothing but underpants on. They were not given anything to eat for 24 hours. Because they had firmly insisted on practicing Falun Gong, Meng Zhaomin was kept outside, with no clothes, in the freezing cold for 5 hours and Pan Zhengfang for more than 3 hours. Before they were sent back to the detention center in Sanhe City on March 1. Pan Zhenfang was forced to face the south wall while two policemen guarded him while Director Wang beat Meng Zhaomin. After Director Wang left, the two policemen used an electric rod to shock Pan Zhenfang on his face and fingers. One policeman is called Zhang Si; the other ones name is unknown.
Meng Zhaomin was fined more than 3,000 Yuan and had been detained for 26 days. Pan Zhenfang was fined 2,000 Yuan and detained for 31 days.
5. Zhang Chunhua, a Falun Gong practitioner, she was taken away from her home, while cooking, on April 23, by a local government official named Yang Shaolin, from Xinji, and several other policemen . On April 27, some policemen took her away from the substation. It was not known until 20 days later that she had been taken to the First Labor Camp for woman at No. 27 in Kaipin district of Tangshan City, Hebei Province without due process. She has not been released.
On July 17, 2000, 13 more practitioners were arrested and thrown into the police substation in Xinji. They were arrested while they were doing house chores, working in the fields, or even having a haircut. The policemen stripped Pan Zhenfang and handcuffed him to a heater that blew hot air on him for several hours. The practitioners arrested include: Yuan Xinjin, Wang Keyin, Wang Kexiang, Yan Yufang, Meng Zhaomin, Pan Zhenfang, Han Yupin, Zhang Xiumin, Li Shuqun, Li Qinzen, and three unknown practitioners. They were released after they held a hunger strike for six days.
6. I am a Falun Gong practitioner in Sahe City, Hebei Province. On July 16, 2000, the local government forced us to attend its "class" because they wanted to stop us from going to Beijing to appeal. Actually attending its class is equivalent to illegal arrest.
Since practitioners have never stopped going to Beijing to appeal, the government became very anxious about us. On July 20, I was taken from my store and sent to the police substation. They said I was away from their surveillance for two hours. Director Chen Wenlin asked two young policemen to force me to kneel on the ground. Each of them stepped on one of my feet, forced my hands behind me, twisted my arm and shocked my body all over with a big electric rod for 4 to 5 minutes.. They twisted my arms and pulled my hair at the same time, so I could not move my head to dodge. Director Chen Wenlin himself punched me in the face four times, then struck my chest four to five times. They left me handcuffed for the entire day. My two thumbs are still numb.

7. XXX, female, 75 years old, a retired official, expelled from the Communist Party on March 6, 2000 because she practices Falun Gong. Her salary was withheld for this year.
Early in the morning on April 14, 2000, I went to practice Falun Gong exercises at the previous practice site. No one had made arrangements with each other beforehand. There were 8 practitioners there. The police noticed us and started to kick and beat us. They grabbed my collar from the back and threw me into a car. At the police substation in Beichen, they wanted to handcuff me but I resisted. Then they handcuffed me to a bicycle and slapped my face over 20 times. Later, they used an electric rod to shock my hand and breasts. I was kept in the police substation until the next day. I was then sent to the workplace and put under watch for more than 20 days.
On July 7, 2000, the police installed special security bars that are used to prevent burglaries, and sent over two young men to watch me until now. (August 26, 2000)
8. On April 14, 2000, more than 10 practitioners practiced Falun Gong in front of a factory at 5A.M. Two police cars came and 7 or 8 policemen jumped out holding electric rods and handcuffs. They came to drag us into the cars. An electric rod was used to shock anyone who refused to get into the car.. After we were sent to the police substation in Beichen, all including the directors and ordinary policemen came to beat us and forced us to kneel down. Some practitioners?mouths were beaten until bloody; some practitioners?faces were burned and blistered by the electric shock. Even old women in there 60s and 70s were tortured. . As citizens, we have the right to choose the way to improve our health. Policemen are supposed to enforce the law, but what they have done violated the law, abused their power , and violated human rights. Where is the justice?
On July 6, 2000, when I went to Beijing to practice in Tiananmen Square to appeal, the police dragged me into a police car. Later several practitioners with a Shangdong accent were thrown into the car too. Because they did not tell the police their names or addresses, and refused to hand in the banner with "Falun Dafa" on it, policemen beat them
9. XXX, female, 42 years old, a foreign trade company worker and Falun Dafa practitioner, has been arrested twice because she went to appeal in Beijing.
On Feb. 4, 2000, I went to appeal in Beijing. Police claimed I had " disturbed the social order" and illegally detained me for 45 days. On my last day in detention, the policemen demanded 2,000 Yuan from my family member as a so-called "fine" before I was eventually released. (Officer Zhao of the police bureau in Sanhe City Hebei Province took the money and did not issue any receipt or record of the transaction)
On April 14, several of us practiced Falun Gong outdoors. When the district police knew, they sent police cars and policemen to our place. They beat and kicked those of us who were doing the exercises. Then they handcuffed and dragged us to the police car. We refused to get in the car, so they forced us by shocking our faces with electric rods. Among the practitioners, there were old women in there 60 and 70s, and young girls in there 20s. In the police substation, there was a policeman in his 40s who beat us and cursed us.. He stripped us all naked and beat us. A man was beaten by four to five policemen. They forced him to hold up his arms horizontally and put a rod against his abdomen with his back bent. They shocked his body using an electric rod until he collapsed from their torture. Later he was sent to the city police bureau detention center by the local police substation. In order to validate that they are not guilty for practicing Falun Gong, they went on a hunger strike for six days. Then they were sent back to the local police substation where they were released . Several practitioners with bruises and wounds went to the local appeal bureau to report the local polices brutal treatment of the practitioners. A supervisor called Meng in the appeal bureau asked us why we were beaten. We told him we were beaten for practicing Falun Gong. He became enraged immediately and said: "It is all right. Even if they beat all Falun Gong practitioners to death, it is not excessive." Then he called the local police station to arrest us but we refused. Above is what other practitioners and I have experienced.

10. I went to Beijing on Feb. 4, 2000. When I got off the bus, two plainclothes policemen came up and said , "Hi, have you heard of Falun Gong?" I said yes. They asked me if I practice Falun Gong. When I told them yes, I was dragged into a police car. When the car drove to the square, a young female claimed she was a Falun Gong practitioner and was put in the car . The police said: "Since you come to Beijing, I am going to beat you to death." He raised his hand and hit her. There was also a young man who had been taken into the car and interrogated. He was pushed out of the car after they found he was not a Falun Gong practitioner.
I was labeled as criminal by the police bureau in Sanhe City and thrown into the detention center. On the morning of Feb. 6, because I was sitting with legs crossed on the bed, a guard thought I was practicing Falun Gong. He rushed in and raised his hand to hit me, handcuffed my both hands from the back and forced me to kneel down.
There were eight practitioners in the cell (six practitioners had been to Beijing to appeal, two prisoners attained Dafa). Because we practiced Falun Gong, we were forced by the guard to stand barefoot on the icy ground . They kept shocking us using electric rods on our bodies?sensitive places. An 18-year-old girl was shocked so brutally that the skin on her face became hard. A 59-year-old woman fell to the ground from the constant shocking, but they kept on using the electric rod to shock her bare feet. They also shocked my face and ear and tried to force an electric rod into my mouth twice . My lips felt numb. The guard then shocked himself with the electric rod. He jumped away and stopped torturing me. Approximately 16 practitioners were sent into the police bureau at the same time with me. The police and other staff in the Sanhe police bureau, confiscated money they had brought.
On March 4, individuals at the Beichen police substation, interrogated me. Another practitioner was also in the room. The interrogator cursed her and slapped her face repeatedly. After my interrogation, a tall man with a round face and fair skin came in. He stood in front of me, grasped my clothes and raised a hand to hit me. He kept yelling, "Let you practice!" "Will you still continue practicing? ". I said calmly without any anger or hatred , "Yes, I will practice." Then he kept beating me until he was tired. I walked back to my position and stood there. On the second day in the cell I got a notice from Beichen police substation saying that during one of the interrogations in Beichen police substation, we disturbed the social order. So we were sentenced for an extra 15-days detention. We Dafa practitioners, with great compassion and forbearance, suffered all the unfair treatment by government police without anger and hatred. We had been detained for 45 days when the detention ended on March 19. They did not release us until each practitioners family paid 2,000 Yuan. We were also charged 440 Yuan for food.
On July 9 2000 in the Beichen police substation, an Associate Director asked me, " You went to Beijing to appeal, right?" I said yes I was to be sentenced to 15 days?detention. I said, "I am not guilty for appealing!" He jumped up, pointed at the interrogation record and shouted at me, "This is your guilt!" I read through the record and believed I was not guilty at all to appeal. The Associate Director was furious. He rushed to me and began to beat me. Six to seven other policemen also beat me without allowing me to explain. Bruises and blood covered my body. One of them ordered me to kneel down in front of the chair. He slapped my face violently. My mouth was swollen and full of blood. After he had sworn and beat me, he handcuffed me to a chair for three to four hours. During that time, they demanded my family pay 1000 Yuan for my release, but refused to so when my family paid. Instead they sent me to the detention center in Sanhe City.
On July 19 in the detention center, while I was lying on the wood bed, the guard Liu Hui whipped me with a nylon rope, dragged and kicked me to the ground. My legs became severely black and blue. The directors always told us: "We will protect your safety once you are here." This is the kind of protection offered to our practitioners.
11. XXX, was arrested because she went to appeal on March 4, 2000 and sent back to the police substation in Sanhe City, Hebei Province . A policeman asked her, "Who told you to come to appeal?" She said, "Nobody, myself." Then the policeman began to beat and kick her. He ordered XXX to remove her coat and only allowed her to wear her thermal under garments. He used a spring hammer to hit her until the hammer broke.
