We (Washington DC practitioners) joined the Dafa (great law) promotion motorcade during the recent New York Experience Sharing Conference. A poster was held up on the top of our car with photos of the exercise demonstrations of practitioners from different countries and different races, including teenagers and young kids. Banners such as "The Goodness of Falun Dafa", "Stop the Persecution of Falun Gong" were hanging on the side of the car. Plus with some small triangular shaped flags, our car was very attractive while driving around crowded New York streets.
Anywhere we drove, the poster on the top of the car and the banners on the sides of the car attracted much attention from pedestrians and drivers in passing by cars. We constantly saw people point to the car and heard them say "Falun Gong". Some passers by came to ask for materials when the car stopped. Some raised their thumb to express their support.
Driving around the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel
Almost everyday there were practitioners doing exercises or holding the banners to appeal near the hotel where Chinese president Jiang Zeming stayed. Our car had driven around there often. We saw so many practitioners peacefully doing exercises on the side roads and some holding up big banners such as "Stop the Brutal Persecution of Falun Gong". Our car had passed by the entrance of the hotel many times. There were always many people standing there. I hoped some of them were lucky enough to see the banners and poster on the car.
Practitioners all around New York
The yellow T-shirts on the practitioners were very outstanding. We often saw the yellow T-shirts while driving round the busy Manhattan district. Such a scene brought the feeling how absurd and stupid it is that the Chinese government persecuted Falun Gong. On every main intersection, there were a few practitioners seen distributing materials to pedestrians.
Returning the Falun Dafa Flag
When we stopped on a small street to wait for a green light, a homeless person, pushing a small handcart, walked toward us and gave us a flag with the words "Falun Dafa". He said, "I picked up the flag on the road. I knew what they (the Chinese government) did." We were moved and thanked him for returning the flag. We saw the precious kindness and Budda-nature in him.
"I am always interested in Falun Gong"
One morning, I was driving the car to a practitioner's home to pick up some books. A nearby American saw the poster and banners on the car and came to ask, "Do you practice Falun Gong nearby? Since I knew of Falun Gong on the New York Health Exhibition last year, I have been always interested in it." I handed her the flyer with the list of New York practice sites and also told her that she could find the materials on the Internet.
During our days staying in New York, our Dafa promotion car had driven through all the streets and helped bring Dafa to Manhattan.
