[Mainland China] Falun Dafa Materials Widely Distributed in City Streets

During July and August 2000, Falun Dafa practitioners of a certain city widely disseminated the truth about the persecution of Falun Gong (Falun Dafa). A large quantity of materials and pamphlets reporting the true situation, of how Falun Dafa practitioners had been persecuted to death, were distributed to all streets large and small. They were continuously being delivered to newspaper drop boxes, milk delivery boxes, baskets on bicycles, IC-card public phone booths, department store counters, banks, supermarket carts, ticket windows in bus and train stations, and other crowded places. Especially in small residential communities, it often occurred that over night, every building, section, and home would receive pamphlets on Falun Dafa. Government agencies, fearing that the public would learn the truth about the persecution of Falun Gong, have sent a large amount of public security officers to go door-to-door and confiscate pamphlets. At the same time, the public security agencies visited the owners of copy and printing operations, and sternly warned them not to duplicate Falun Dafa materials in an effort to block the source of these materials. However, Falun Dafa materials continued to show up on public streets. Thinking proactively, practitioners duplicated and printed large amounts of publications that were in high demand. There was also a note at the bottom of the pages reading: Access to Minghui Net is available through proxy servers at http://www.minghui.cc, so that more people could access information about the truth through the minghui Net website. Some practitioners have distributed over 10,000 copies of printed materials to date.

Recently, when a Falun Dafa practitioner was distributing leaflets in front of a shopping center, a policeman who had the area under surveillance spotted him. This police officer covertly moved the practitioner's bicycle to a different place. When the Falun Dafa practitioner inquired about the location of his bicycle, he was told by the policeman, "I had spotted you a while ago, and read the materials you are passing out. I know you are receiving these materials and it is now a plan to disseminate these materials. Let me tell you something, you are lucky it's me who you ran into. If it were someone else, you would be taken into custody. Leave at once. We have people watching every shopping and residential area, both large and small.

While the action of this police officer at first glance, is seems admirable, his behavior on this issue (whether its true or pretended) is placing his own position in the future. At the same time, we also wonder if it isn't merely a tactic to let someone go free, with the intent to locate the main source and catch everyone at one time.

[Mainland China] On August 23, 2000, Xinjian County Public Security Bureau in Nanchang secretly arrested Hu Qingyun's wife, Ren Qin, from her home.

Recently, she was secretly sent to Gaoan Detention Center. Now their 13-year-old child is at home alone.

[Mainland China] A Nine Year Old Boy Handcuffed for Over 4 Hours

A young, 9-year-old male practitioner in Shijiazhuang went to Beijing with his mother to appeal. In the representative's office of Shijiazhuang located in Beijing, police handcuffed him for over four hours.

[Mainland China] "Wrap the Fire with Paper," Telling Lies to the World While Suppressing the People

When reporting on the special interview of Jiang Zemin by a U.S. TV anchorman, China's Central Television Station didn't report anything about the anchorman's question to Jiang Zemin regarding Falun Gong. Nor did it mention the answers given by Jiang Zemin. We don't know why. Why is it that the Chinese media dared not broadcast to the Chinese viewers, all the facts of such an important event? Later on, from Radio Free Asia we learned that this so-called third generation leader even made up false accusations overseas, behind the backs of 1.2 billion people. He groundlessly accused the founder of Falun Gong of claiming to be "a reincarnation of Jesus and Sakyamuni, etc". The lies from a government dignitary a year ago appearing in Le Figaro (note: major French newspaper) may have misled people overseas who had not yet come to know the truth about Falun Gong. However, today by lying to U.S. reporters he is only further revealing his shameful and embarrassing actions to the foreign media and overseas public who have free access to unbiased reports. His true intention can only be to cover up the wrong act of brutally suppressing the population who practices Falun Dafa.

[China] Chinese government forces ISP companies to install 'Network Police'

According to the information provided by ISP companies, the installation of 'Network Police' software, forced by the Chinese Government, has been completed. The 'Network Police' software was installed on the Route Searching Devices of every local network's exit, and will scan every message passing through the Route Searching Devices, including key words, such as 'Falun Gong', and 'IP addresses of Minghui'. Because the source IP address and port number are all included in the packages, the telephone number of the online computers and the code of the computer on the local network can then be easily found out. If the message or data in the package are encrypted, the network police will fail to work. Using double Proxy with encrypting functions can also skip the network police. The network police can also slow down your downloading speed or even make your computer shut down if the downloading lasts for a long time.

[China] Recently, policemen in the City of Shijiazhuang held meetings to discuss strategies for tracking down Falun Dafa practitioners who have been distributing the materials of "Falun Gong: The Real Story."

At each residential area and public site, there are assigned persons watching, tracking, and then arresting. We hope you will all watch out for these security people.

[China] Recently, a lot of Falun Dafa practitioners in a district of Tianjin City were arrested at home, their houses were searched and properties were confiscated.

Policemen arrested some practitioners just because they were suspected of distributing flyers clarifying the truth of the crackdown or spreading Falun Dafa materials.

In August, Falun Dafa practitioners in the district actively clarified the truth to the public and distributed a lot of flyers to show how Falun Dafa practitioners were cruelly persecuted. In a short time, almost all the people in the district knew the truth. A notice on the board in a residential area said: "Recently, Falun Gong activity is rampant, anti-revolution flyers are distributed, please hand in all received flyers to the residence committee."

[China] Policemen go to shameful lengths to arrest practioners because the people know the truth of Falun Gong and the truth about the persecution against Falun Gong.

Consequently, authorities dispatched a large number of plainclothes policemen to spot and arrest Falun Dafa practitioners in order to further cover-up the truth.

When learning the truth that was hidden by CCTV, the public understands that the so-called "anti-revolution" label (Note: meaning anti-government) is just more propaganda for covering up the truth. The public also sees through the propaganda put out by CCTV regarding Falun Gong issues, and the malicious measures taken by the government to persecute the Falun Gong practitioners. Many people have expressed that they are not willing to trust what CCTV reports.

[China] More than 10 Falun Dafa practitioners in the Great Harbor District in Tianjin City were sent to "labor education," but their names are not known yet.

Up to April 2000, practitioners known to be sent to "labor education" include Wang Yuming, Wang Yuncai, Ma Xiurong, Yang Yongjian, Mr. Mu, Zhao Binhong etc, and there others whose names are unknown at this time. Since May 2000, a number of Falun Dafa practitioners including Sun Qiao were sent to "labor education," but their information cannot be retrieved. Such cases keep occurring recently. Most of the practitioners mentioned above were arrested more than two times or put in prison for more than one month.
