[Mainland China] Further Actions Said To Be Taken Secretly Against Falun Gong Practitioners, Benxi City, Liaoning Province

According to the latest news, the public security bureau of Benxi City, Liaoning Province recently held a secret meeting. A speech of the Chinese President on severely punishing Falun Gong was relayed. In accordance with this speech, further actions have been decided to be taken secretly against Falun Gong practitioners who have made appeals in Beijing three times. Also, those who distributed Falun Gong material will be sent to labor camps.

Until now, more than twenty practitioners have received sentences of forced labor for over one year in Benxi for distributing Falun Gong materials.

Falun Gong practitioners, in a district where the practitioners were severely persecuted, photocopied large quantities of "A brief note on the truth about Falun Gong". They distributed these brochures in residential areas and now each family in the area has a copy. The police have given up, as too many practitioners were involved in distributing the brochures.

On the evening of September 4, 2000, dozens of firm Falun Gong practitioners in the Chao Shan district were sent to the Sanshui City Labor Camp in Guangdong Province from the Chenghai City Detention Center, Guangdong Province.

Chenghui practitioners who went to Beijing to appeal were abused and tortured by the Waisha Town Police Substation in Chenghai City and the Public Security Bureau of Chenghai City. These practitioners were detained for two months and then sent to labor camps with different charges. Practitioners remained determined despite facing jail sentences.

At 8pm, Waisha Town of Chenghai City, lights flashed on the horizon and thick clouds gathered in the sky. A round disk formed by a dozen balls of light was spinning under the big clouds, at various speeds and from small to large. The balls of lights scattered everywhere. At the end of the spinning, another round disk was formed and four or five Faluns were spinning too. The scene lasted until after 10 pm and the sky returned to normal.

People of Waisha Town all observed this spectacle and were astonished. Dafa practitioners were moved to tears and many children of practitioners saw Master, Buddhas and Bodhisattvas in the golden clouds. Children were all amazed and called loudly for people to come to see Master.

[Mainland China] The Secretary of Party committee of Guangdong province instigated the plot which made practitioners suffer without any reason.

1. It was said that in order to align closely with the highest authority in the Party, the Secretary of the Party committee of Guangdong Province, Li Changchun has given instructions several times to "eradicate" Falun Gong. On the name list of responsible persons of Falun Dafa assistant centers, he also made checks next to the names along with remarks such as "this person should be arrested", "why not sentence this person", etc., and thus put pressure on the police department. As a result, without any evidence, among those whose names were checked, some have been repeatedly detained and interrogated, some have been closely monitored and followed (they were used as traps to find other key contacts), some have secretly disappeared (Li Guoe from the organizing department of the provincial Party committee has disappeared for a long time). 3. On June 16, simply because of watching other practitioners doing the exercises, Shi Lei was brutally beaten and injured by the director of Zhujiang City police department and his people. Shi Lei was detained and has not been released since then. It is said that Shi Lei has been on a hunger strike demanding his civil right and his health condition is extremely poor.

4. Violating citizen's right by not issuing passports to practitioners.

Zou Yan (phone: [phone]) is a retired lady of a provincial agency (General Bureau of Agriculture) of Guangdong province. When she planned to visit her daughter in Europe, the provincial police department refused to issue her a passport and told her that they were given notices from their superiors that passports would not be issued to Falun Dafa practitioners. A renowned university professor (also a Falun Dafa practitioner) is studying abroad as required by his job. His family applied for passports six months ago in order to visit him. But the application was delayed for no reason and his family still hasn't got the passports.

It is hard to believe that such actions of publicly depriving civil/citizen's rights can happen in Guangdong province where many foreign businesses come together and is located near by Hong Kong and Macao, and which is known as the frontier of reform and openness. It is unclear how the leaders of Guangdong will make excuses for themselves in front of the world.
