[Mainland China] Practitioners of a Region in Northern China Have Given out over 300,000 Copies of Dafa Materials
A region in northern China has a population over a million and has about 20 thousand practitioners, some of whom were fortunate to have attended the nine-day lectures given by Teacher a few years ago. During the tribulation, the practitioners have realized that to clarify the truth is the best way to "help". Recently, many volunteered to clarify the truth of Dafa to people using various methods.
The financial standards of the practitioners in that region were quite poor. They lived frugally to save money to get the printed materials. Once one practitioner went to a farmer's market to pass out flyers. He shouted: "come and take a look at the truth behind the Zhongnanhai incident (note from translator: On April 25, 1999, over 10,000 practitioners went to Zhongnanhai to appeal to the central authorities)." Immediately, many asked for the materials, and after about an hour, all 4 thousand copies were passed out.
In order to let more practitioners realize the process of the rectification, conferences were held for over a hundred practitioners, which gave many practitioners the courage to step out and clarify the truth of Dafa.
From investigation, as of right now, they have passed out over 300 thousand copies of Dafa materials to clarify the truth.
[Mainland China] Mishan Detention Center in Heilongjiang Province Induced Abortion of a Practitioner's Pregnancy by Forcing her to do Hard Labor During the Pregnancy
Dou Jianhua is a 28 year-old female practitioner in Mishan City, Heilongjian province. She's a kindergarten teacher with a college degree. In June of 2000, she went to Bejing for the second time to appeal. (Ms. Dou had been detained in the Mishan Detention Center when she first appealed for Dafa in Beijing.) After being escorted back, she was sent to the Beishan Detention Center in Lianzhushan Town by the Nongken Police Department in Mudanjiang, Mishan City. All practitioners in the detention center were forced to do hard labor. Especially after knowing Ms. Dou was pregnant, they continued to let her move heavy bricks, which caused massive bleeding and induced an abortion.
The husband of Ms. Dou is also a practitioner. His whereabouts is still uncertain after he went to Beijing for the second time to appeal. Ms. Dou's other relatives protested forcefully to the Nongken Police Department after finding out about the abortion. After turning over a bail of 2000 Yuan, they were able to take Ms. Dou home to recuperate. However what's more shocking was that Ms. Dou had not been home for a week when the police again took her away on the morning of August 5th. She's still currently under detention.
This incident provoked quite a bit of anger among the local citizens. All accused the local government of its ruthless actions, especially because Ms. Dou was a sweet and kind person, and also a responsible employee. Just because she wanted to appeal to the government, she encountered such inhumane treatment.
Thus, we Dafa practitioners plead to all the world: we wish all international communities, human right organizations and all kind hearted people, please pay special attention to the Falun Gong situation in China. Urge China to obey the international human rights laws, to respect its national laws and stop the persecution toward Falun Gong practitioners; also to release all detained Dafa Practitioners.

[Mainland China] Female Navy Officer Li Qiuxia sent to Mental Hospital for the Second Time
Female officer Li Qiuxia of Primary Navy Hospital was released in a hurry on August 2nd. However after finding out that she intended to post her detention experience in the mental hospital on the Internet, the Navy hospital detained her again immediately, with all communications severed. After a few days, suspecting her of passing out flyers, her work place once again detained her indefinitely waiting for higher directors to pass down a verdict.
Ms. Li was sent to 261 Mental Institute of People's Liberation Army on June 2nd with the consent of the Navy Hospital. At first, she refused to take medication, so the nursed tried to pry open her mouth, then a nasal tube that was connected to her stomach. They even used electrical torture. Once when Ms. Li was reciting Hongyin (poem collection of Teacher Li), the nurses asked her what she was doing and after finding out the answer, they became quite angry. They bound her to a post and pricked two electrical needles to her temple. Because the needles penetrated into the flesh plus the muscles went into shock, it was very painful. She was given the torture three times. When her relatives came to visit, the hospital personnel would say: " Ms. Li is an official, we'll treat her nicely. We won't treat her like other patients, please don't worry too much." The doctors said the daily meal standard is 10 Yuan, which included fruit. Actually, all they ate were blacken buns, all they drank was porridge without any rice, and the so-called daily fruit ration was a cucumber or tomato every other three or four days. Also, it's a common occurrence for the nurses to beat and scold the patients. They forced her to take 13 pills every day, but the pills didn't have any effects on her. Others would become drowsy after taking it, yet nothing would happen to her, so she no longer refused to take the medication. Because the hospital forbids practicing Falun Gong, she got up in the middle of the night to practice. As for learning Fa, she would copy lines of poem on the white edge of her own books. Nurses don't quite understand Falun Gong, and Ms. Li would use any time possible to introduce the Fa. Everyday, she would happily overtake the tasks of cleaning the rooms, and nursing the patients. She cared about the lives of the nurses and helped any suicidal patients overcome their psychological obstacles. Because of all her positive actions, her surroundings were being slowing rectified. When she was released, the nurses said: "We thought Falun Gong Practitioners were self abusive, but never thought you are such a good person. We'll really miss you."
During the tribulations, practitioners have manifested great benevolence, forbearance, and a selfless state of being. Although during the cultivation, everyone still has some attachments, their great actions have already been recorded into history. At the same time, all beings must repay all persecutions they've done to Dafa and Dafa practitioners. Millions of practitioners are not only suffering for their personal tribulation. At the same time they are using their blood and lives to awaken the awareness of all beings. Who's kind and who's evil? Who's right and who's wrong? People, please wake up!
[Shanghai] Practitioner Hua Wei from Beijing successfully pleaded his innocence
Practitioner Hua Wei from Beijing got arrested while exchanging experiences with other practitioners in Shanghai City this February. Later he was prosecuted. In Shanghai, it was the first time that Falun Gong practitioners got prosecuted for exchanging experiences with each other according to the item 300 of the Criminal Law. The Court in Shanghai City paid a lot of attention to this case and opened the trial in the middle of August.
It was a full house in the court. Some of them were police officers. Some of them were of unknown identity. Hua Wei and his attorney successfully pleaded his innocence. Later, Hua Wei was not sentenced.

Dong Linxian, a police officer from the Political Security Section in Laiyang City Police Department, Shandong Province, often beat up practitioners for no reasons. Recently, he had hepatitis and diabetes and was sent to a hospital.

A female practitioner in Jinan City was imposed a fine of 5,000 Yuan (about half a year's salary of an ordinary worker in China) and then sent to the local police station for a detention of over 30 hours for going to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. Later, she was sent to a mental hospital by her family members and the police station. In the mental hospital, she was given forced-injections and medicines while being roped onto the bed, which made her mind become unstable and very anxious and agitated.
The Dianliu Police Station of Lixia District, Jinan City, followed practitioners and bugged their phones. A few practitioners got interrogated and detained for practicing Falun Gong together in the morning. Later, they were imposed fines and had their salaries deducted for no reason.
A female practitioner in Changqing County, Jinan City, got detained for two days and was imposed a fine of 2,000 Yuan for going to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong this March. Later, she got detained for one month in the city detention center for unfurling a Falun Dafa banner in Beijing, for the accusation of "damaging the implementation of the law using the evil religion". Now she is under the illegal surveillance of the Changqing County Police Department. Her husband was forced to quit his job and was assigned to monitor her at home.
The head of the Political Security Section of the Lixia District Police Department, Jinan City, Chen Zhaofu, had attempted to fish political capital through slandering Falun Dafa and the Teacher and persecuting Falun Gong practitioners by resorting to all kinds of evil means. He even mobilized a few people to infiltrate into practitioners in order to undermine Falun Dafa.
A female practitioner in Jinan City had gone to Beijing to appeal for Falun Dafa for 5 times. She got detained thereafter for 4 times by the Dianliu Police Station of Lixia District, Jinan City. She had been beaten up and force-fed. Her workplace also terminated her labor contract.
[Tianjin] In Dagang District, Tianjin City, at least 30 Practitioners were Sentenced with Forced-Labor and 80 Practitioners got Detained since last July 22.
[China] Be Alert of the Interference from the "Practitioners"
Some people with ulterior motives tried to undermine the determination and the righteous minds of practitioners who have been in tribulations for a long time by pretending themselves to be Falun Dafa "practitioners". They tried to transform the determined practitioners so they would cooperate with the government. They urged the practitioners time and again with "good intentions" to write the pledge that they would give up Falun Dafa. Some people of unknown identities who claimed to be "transformed practitioners" went from door to door to work on practitioners. When they went to the home of a practitioner, they were usually accompanied by the police and officers from the street offices.
We think that these are the tribulations of these practitioners. Meanwhile, we would like to remind other practitioners that the current cultivation environment is extremely complicated and genuine practitioners should always measure everything using the Dafa.
We should intensify our studies of Dafa, especially the recent articles by the Teacher since this June 16. Let us get rid of the last attachment(s) and make firm our determination so that the evil forces will have no markets. The genuine practitioners should not write any pledge or repentance under any circumstances.
