There are eight people in our family and six of us practice Falun Gong. My mother does not practice but she says she knows best that Falun Gong is good since so many people in her family have become better people and have gained better health from practicing Falun Gong. The family has also become more harmonious.
The police station often asked me to attend the "transformation class" (detention) this year because I went to Beijing to appeal last year. Each time, when my mother would go to the police station and to my work unit to request my release, they had nothing to say, so they had to release me ahead of schedule every time.
My mother noticed that the police would often detain, put into hard labor, and re-educate' Falun Gong practitioners without any reason so later on, she went to the municipal government and Beijing to appeal and explain the truth. Mother says that her horizons were broadened on that trip to appeal to Beijing. She saw many Falun Gong practitioners on her way to Beijing. The police chased and rounded up these practitioners. The policemen and spies were everywhere: at railway stations, on trains, in hotels, in Tiananmen Square, and at the Appeals Bureau. They relentlessly arrested practitioners who went to appeal. Mother said they did so because they feared that people would know the truth. The police also wanted to arrest Mother after she went to the State Council's Appeal Bureau to appeal but she managed to escape.
Mother told us that after that trip, she now understands better who is righteous and who is evil because a good person is not afraid of sensible reasoning. Some fellow practitioners who heard that my mother went to Beijing to appeal said that my mother was a great mother who has sacrificed for her children. Mother said that she went to appeal because she knows this Fa is righteous. If her children were doing something bad she would never have gone to Beijing to appeal.
Mother was very worried because oftentimes Falun Gong practitioners who visited the Minghui web site were arrested and she saw us distributing the materials that we had printed out from Minghui to other practitioners. She said: "Teach me how to use the Internet and let me do the distribution. I am old so it doesn't matter if I'm thrown into jail, but you'll have no future if you're arrested."
Once, Mother saw us distributing flyers, so she looked them over very carefully and told us that they were very good. She asked us to give her some so that she could give them to whomever she meets. She said they would know everything after they read the flyers. Later on, Mother also helped us with the distribution of the flyers.
My father, who does not practice either, was very angry when he saw my mother being so enthusiastic and said: "Why does this concern you? You don't have to do this; it's like using eggs to strike a stone." Mother said: "How can you do nothing when you see so many kind-hearted people being beaten, detained and forced into hard labor? People who did these evil things should be punished."
Later at home we were preparing to go to Beijing to appeal. Mother was very worried when she learned about this because the police said we would be sent to a labor camp if we were to go to appeal again. We knew she felt very anxious in her heart during those days, but she tried hard to bear the agony and she did not try to stop us. She just told me: "Mother will not be able to stop you. But please let me know immediately once you are arrested and sent back here from Beijing. I will then go to the police station and argue with them, and you may have a chance to run away." I said: "We are good and righteous and we will not run away." Mother replied: "That's silly. You can at least do something for Dafa if you stay outside. You won't be able to do anything if you are sent to the labor camp."
We love Mother because she understands us and lets us practice in the midst of the cruel reality.
We respect Mother because she knows what is righteous and what is evil. She bravely stands on the side of righteousness and does not bow to evil forces.
