In the early morning of September 6, many Falun Gong practitioners wearing yellow T-shirts gathered again at Café St. Barts near the Waldorf Hotel to attend a Dafa-promoting breakfast meeting since the promotion of Dafa (the great law) was quite successful here the day before.
In the afternoon of the previous day when some practitioners were promoting Dafa here, they found there is a small open space on the street corner so they started practicing Falun Gong there. After a short while, more and more practitioners came to join the practice and the number reached nearly 200. The policemen on duty nearby the hotel noticed this and they kindly moved several blue barrier fences to enclose an area specifically for us to practice. Many pedestrians stopped to watch us practice. The leaders from different countries and their staff inside the hotel could also see us practicing there. When two western practitioners in their yellow T-shirts were having lunch at a table near the hotel, a fleet of cars slowly drove by with two fire trucks clearing the way in front and several sedans following behind. The last car was a bullet proof Cadillac guarded by two police cars in the front and rear. When this bullet-proof car approached these two western practitioners, they looked inside of the car and found that the Chinese President was sitting right there and he was reading the English words on the practitioners' T-shirts: "Stop Persecuting Falun Gong Practitioners. " Several other practitioners also ran into the US Chinese Ambassador, Li Zhaoxing, near the hotel and they enthusiastically greeted him and told him that Falun Dafa is indeed very good and has been very beneficial to their mind and body.
Due to these coincidences, a lot of practitioners came here again this morning without prior arrangement. However, they found the security was very tight. When they asked some policemen for the reason, they learned that President Clinton would go to the United Nations to deliver a speech that day. When the policemen knew that we already had an agreement with the restaurant and we were going to have breakfast and practice Falun Gong there, they were all very surprised since they usually require the restaurant to temporarily close its outside dinning area when President Clinton goes in and out of the hotel each year. Yet they did not know why they forgot to do so this year. Even so, the policemen still very kindly opened the barricades and let the practitioners get in and practice Falun Gong.
After the breakfast meeting, practitioners in their yellow T-shirts walked together to join other Dafa-promoting activities for the day.
