After the article Rationality written by the Teacher on August 9, 2000 was published, some people in Harbin brought the article to the prisons [where Falun Dafa practitioners were detained] and said that they wanted to persuade practitioners there to leave the prisons [by compromising]. This is a very inappropriate behavior. Most practitioners can recognize and distinguish what is right or wrong according to the Fa and not be affected. However, a few individual practitioners who have a shallow understanding of the Fa or cannot let go their attachments start having doubts. Thus they are prepared to sign the "denouncement" or do similar things that were not appropriate. For a cultivator, this is a crucial matter of principle concerning cultivation practice, and should not be treated casually. One should handle it correctly from the stand point of Dafa.
Teacher said in Rationality, "Coming forth to validate the Fa in various ways is a magnificent deed, but this absolutely does not mean that you have to be arrested by the wicked forces." Some time ago, there were indeed a few individual practitioners who thought that only being thrown into jail is extraordinary, and being sentenced means that one has passed the test. There were even some people who were attached to going to jail. When the police were taking away other practitioners next to him, he would step forth and claimed that he was also a practitioner and thus be thrown into prison as well. They had treated getting into the prison as a necessary step for improvement in cultivation practice. This is a serious misunderstanding about cultivation practice in Dafa and the current cosmic changes of the Fa rectification. Just as the Teacher said, "Validating Dafa is truly glorious -- it is to validate Dafa that you come forth. Since you come forth, you should try to succeed in validating the Fa -- this is the real purpose of coming forth." Now the "purpose of coming forth" has been clarified. I think that we should not take a narrow-minded approach to understand the Fa with personal attachments, and should not go from one extreme to the other. Much less, should we surrender to demons or comprise with evils. "Being released from prison" is not our purpose, either. Our purpose is to validate Dafa and let the world know the truth about Dafa.
Then, is it appropriate for the practitioners who have been put into prison to temporarily get out by ways that compromise with the evil forces such as writing "denouncement"? Based on our understanding, it is absolutely not appropriate since it is absolutely out of reason according to the Fa.
Whatever we do and say as practitioners will be vividly recorded in other dimensions and can still be clearly seen even after countless ages. Whether it can be seen by a persons flesh eyes or not, it is the objective historic accounts of a living beings true experiences. It cannot be concealed, added, deleted or modified. For a cultivator, it is even more so. Every action of a cultivator is being written into ones cultivation history which may be spread far and wide for countless generations. In modern society where virtue is neglected and disregarded, ordinary people often use such "cleverness" as lying, pretense, and deceitful ways to get by or making "realistic" deals, for the sake of protecting their self-interests or accomplishing some specific goals. People with their degenerated minds have been accustomed to this and do not think there is anything wrong with it. However, no matter what ordinary people think or do, that is only the behavior of ordinary people at their xinxing level.
For a person in the course of cultivation practice, there simultaneously exist the divine part (the part which has accomplished cultivation) and the human part (the part yet to accomplish cultivation). These two parts all belong to the same living being. The divine part will naturally and willingly think and act strictly according to the characteristics of the universe corresponding to its xinxing level. This is because it has completely assimilated to Dafa at its realm and has become part of the manifestation of the truth and the indestructibility of the universal Dafa. It is absolutely not allowed to do things according to the standard of ordinary people. Then how about the human part that has not completed cultivation? Even though he is still a human, he can no longer be considered as the same type of being as an ordinary person. This is because he is cultivating to become a divine being, and in the process of being assimilated with Dafa. Teacher has told such a principle -- that the heaven will not treat a cultivator as a human because if he succeeds in cultivation, he will become a great Buddha, Tao or God in the universe. A divine being is a union of body and mind, and its conduct of action is consistent with its intent. Then, how can a great divine being write any "denouncement" required by those evil forces and vile human beings? If you write any "denouncement" for those who are sabotaging Dafa, would you feel qualified even though Teacher wants to give you another chance to advance towards consummation? How can you explain when the divine beings in the heaven ask you how you were able to ascend through cultivation? Having once written a "false guarantee" would be contaminating that cultivated pure and genuine divine being. If we say that one may have another chance for cultivation in the future if one has missed this opportunity, which occurs only once in ten thousand years, and thus fail to advance towards consummation, how long then will one have to wait for another chance, and how much hardship will one have to suffer in order to clear away such a stain.
It is wrong to arrest us and detain us, and it is even more so to sentence and penalize us with fines. It is all their wrong doings, not ours. If we don't hold on to the attachment of being thrown into jail, then it is possible that being arrested or detained while stepping forward to validate Dafa is a process for us to cultivate and dissolve our own karma, and a process for us to be enlightened to the Fa at that level. It is also a process for us to let them know the principle of great compassion and forbearance and let evil beings expose their wrongdoing in front of Dafa of the universe, and a process to save those sentient beings that should be saved. We should not go awry in understanding the Fa. When you have enlightened to the Fa at that level and dare to relinquish your human mentalities, the iron gate of the prison will no longer be able to restrict you. More over, the divine beings in the heaven and your guardian of the Fa will not allow you to be jailed. No matter what temporary and illusory excuses are presented in front of your eyes, you must not get confused, let alone surrender to the evils. At the same time, we should draw lessons from past experiences. Using the clear insights cultivated in Dafa to identify those special agents who have infiltrated among us under various disguises, and see through the various "new packaging" of their hidden evil plots. Act in accordance with Teacher's teaching, "Eliminate Your Last Attachment(s)," and do not leave any loopholes for the evils to exploit.
