[Gan-su Province] The Police Cremated Ms. Yao Bao-rong Secretly

The news of Ms. Yao Bao-rong got killed from jumping out of a building spread quickly in the Lan-zhou City and other places. Many practitioners have gone to the hospital or the former working unit of Ms. Yao to deliver a floral wreath to express their grief. Meanwhile the practitioners have gone to the police department to question the cause of death of Ms. Yao. At that time, the police claimed that they would give the practitioners an answer after some investigation and they would allow the practitioners to attend the funeral ceremony of Ms. Yao. However, these turned out to be lies.

At 2:50am on May 23, the police wrapped the corpse of Ms. Yao in a big bag and secretly transferred it out of the hospital, then cremated the corpse in a rush. According to news sources, only some police and officials from the civil administration bureau were present when Ms. Yao was cremated.

Before Ms. Yao was cremated, the police registered all practitioners who delivered the floral wreath, and before long, the police interrogated them. No explanation to the cause of death of Ms. Yao was given up to now.

[Gan-su Province] Some Practitioners from Hui-ning County Were Parading Through the Street

Mid March this year, the police Department of Hui-ning County roped 8 practitioners (4 of them had gone to Beijing to appeal and got escorted back from there) on a truck and paraded them in the city, county and villages. A mass conference was held in a village to criticize them afterwards. The whole activity lasted a whole day.

The police Department of Hui-ning County forced the practitioners to curse and spit onto the photos of Teacher Li. Otherwise, they would suffer the torture of being roped, which could make one lose one's consciousness very soon. Some police even yelled, "according to the spirit of policies from high officials, nothing is considered overdone no matter how severe we treat the practitioners."

The couple of Ms. Yang Yong-li, an associate professor from the Northwest common university, and Mr. Guo Shou-jun, PhD, were detained in this February. Their child at age of 4 is left alone with no one to look after him. After about two months of detention, Ms. Yang was released after being imposed a fine of 10,000 Yuan, while her husband, Mr. Gou is still being detained in the Xi-guo-yuan detention center.

[Gan-su Province] The Persecution Made Practitioners Live in difficulty

The detention, forced-labor, imprisonment and stiff fines have made practitioners in China live in difficulty.

According to an incomplete statistic of the four districts of Gan-su Province alone, several thousand practitioners got detained or given forced-labor. Currently in the Ping-an-tai labor camp of Nan-zhou City, at least 30 practitioners are serving the forced-labor for a period of one-year.

Many practitioners who were unemployed or retired workers or peasants were imposed stiff fines. In some working units, the police department even confiscated the practitioners' monthly salary for basic living. Some practitioners were imposed a fine of more than their annual salary.

The police imposed a fine of 3,000 Yuan on some practitioners who were retired workers, which was almost their half-year income. An extremely poor practitioner was also imposed a fine of 5,000 Yuan and had only been able to make up 1,200 Yuan to pay the police.

The over 20 practitioners in a city were each imposed a fine of 2,000 Yuan, which was more than their half-year income. This type of phenomena was very common.

[Jiao-zhou, Shan-dong Province] The Practitioners Are Still Being Tortured in the Mental Hospital

In order to prove that Falun Dafa is not a "cult" and wishing to get a lenient environment for practicing Falun Dafa, several hundred practitioners from Jiao-zhou City have gone to Beijing to appeal since July 1999. They have been persecuted by all kinds of inhumane treatments.

Up to now, 12 practitioners have been sent to the mental hospital for having gone to Beijing to appeal or continuing to practice Falun Gong. Below is a list of them.

Wei Hua-yu, an accountant from the Accounting Office of Jiao-zhou City;

An Xian-qin, a teacher from the Zhen-hua School of Jiao-zhou City;

Tan Gui-hua and Kuang Ben-cui, employees from the Third Leather Shoe Factory of Qing-dao City;

Liu Zhao-hong, an employee from the Water Conservancy Bureau of Jiao-zhou City;

Qiu Yuan-e, an employee from the Seventh Company of the Oil Department;

Lu Yi, an engineer of the Institute of Design of East China;

Liu Fu-xi, a former official of the Commission for Inspecting Discipline of Jiao-zhou City;

Li Gui-feng, a villager from the Li-jia-he, the Yun-xi Liaison Office;

Xu Yan-zhong, a villager from the Zhao-jia-yuan, the Fu-an Liaison Office;

Zhou Cai-xia, the party secretary of the Rubber Plant of Jiao-zhou City;

Zhang Yi-ping, a worker from the Electrical Station of Jiao-zhou City.

Now, Lu Yi, Qiu Yuan-e, Zhang Yi-ping and Kuang Ben-cui have been released from the mental hospital. Others are still being detained in the mental hospital. They could get released from the mental hospital if they pledge that they would not appeal for Falun Gong anymore, would not practice Falun Gong anymore, and pay a fine of several thousand Yuan. In the mental hospital, practitioners were given injections and medicines by force, or being shocked with electrical needles. The hospital usually gives a mental patient one injection per month. However, they gave two injections per day to the practitioners. After the injections, the practitioners would feel a have lack of strength all over the body. If the practitioners refused to take the medicines, the doctors and nurses would prick their mouth using a steel pipe and force them to take the medicines. Some practitioners had their mouths injured. They had been shocked for up to 40 minutes. These originally healthy practitioners have been tortured to become skinny and some have even become absentminded and showed a lack of strength while walking.

Lu Yi, was given a over-dose of medicines everyday in the mental hospital. He was given two sleeping injections and took sedative medicines three times a day. In only ten days, he had been tortured to on the verge of death. Later his family members picked him up after paying a fine of 3,000 Yuan.

Zhou Cai-xia, after 4 days of hunger strike in the detention center of Jiao-zhou City, was taken to the mental hospital on June 4. She was given injections while being roped.

Xu Yan-zhong, had been beaten up for many times for refusing to take the medicines.

Li Gui-feng, had been roped many times for continuing to practice Falun Gong.

On May 31, after practitioners in New York of USA got to know this inhumane mistreatment against practitioners in the mental hospital, they called the head of the mental hospital to investigate the matter. The director denied the persecution. On June 1, the local practitioners also called the mental hospital and both the director and the doctors denied the persecution.
