[Guang-dong Province] Arbitrary Detention; Graduate Student Forced to Quit School

Wang Jin-hua, 25 years old, was a practitioner from the Shan-jia Town of Yang-chun City, Guang-dong Province. Wang went to Beijing to appeal on September 9 of 1999 and was detained for 20 days in the Shi-jing-shan detention center in Beijing, and another 2 days in Guang-dong Liaison Office in Beijing and 15 days in the local Yang-chun City detention center.

He Kai-qiang, 24 years old, was a practitioner from the He-dong Green-making Corporation of Guang-zhou City. He Kai-qiang got was detained for 20 days in the Shi-jing-shan detention center in Beijing, another 2 days in Guang-dong Liaison Office in Beijing and 8 days in the Tang-xia detention center of Tian-he district of Guang-zhou City.

Wu Shao-kai, 25 years old, a graduate student from the Agricultural University of South China in Guang-zhou City. Wu was detained for 20 days in the Shi-jing-shan detention center in Beijing, another 2 days in Guang-dong Liaison Office in Beijing, and 2 days in the Wu-shan police station and 5 days in the local Tian-he detention center in Guang-zhou City. Afterwards, he was under home arrest for 15 days. He was also forced to quit the school.

Deng Shu-juan, female, 40 years old, college degree, a former employee of a private enterprise. "I feel I have the obligation to stand out to prove that Falun Dafa is righteous with my own personal experience. On March 6, I went to the State's Appealing Office in Beijing. I was intercepted in front of the Appealing Office by some police officers and then got detained in the basement of the Guang-dong Liaison Office for 2 days. On March 8, I was escorted back and detained in the local Hai-zhu Park Police Station in the Hai-zhu District of Guang-zhou City for 2 days. Later on the early morning of March 11, I was transferred to the Hai-zhu Detention Center for 25 days of detention under the accusation of "disturbing social orders". I got released at 5:15pm of April 5. Within one month, I had been interrogated for 10 times, nine of the interrogations were recorded. I was handcuffed during the two interrogations in the detention center. I am a law-abiding citizen. I always returned the curse of police with kindness. I don't know why I was accused of disturbing the social orders. I was monitored after I was released."

[He-nan Province] Arbitrary Detention and Fine

Xu Xie-yi , practitioner from Zheng-zhou City, got arrested on December 6 of 2000 when practicing Falun Gong outdoors. Xu's personal belongings including cashes, cellular phone and books of Falun Dafa were confiscated. The police demanded Xu's parents to pay some money in order to get Xu out of the detention center. Xu's parents paid 2,500 Yuan in January 2000. However, Xu has been detained up to now.

[He-bei Province] The Story of A Couple

Practitioners from Lang-fang City of He-bei Province, Mr. Yang Yuan-bao and Ms. Wang Li-ping, who are a couple, were demanded on February 20 by their supervisors to write a pledge of giving up their beliefs. If they refused to do that, one of them would have to go to the "transformation education class". Otherwise, they would be both sent to detention center. When Yang Yuan-bao and another practitioner were in the "transformation class", their books of Falun Dafa were confiscated. To get back their books, they started hunger strike.

On February 26 of 2000, the police ransacked Mr. Yang and Ms. Wang's home, and seized away the books and pictures of Falun Gong. Wang Li-ping was to receive forced-labor "education". Both of them were fired by their workplaces.

[Shan-dong Province] Persecutions in Qing-dao City and Ji-mo City

Ms. Huang Yan, a fourth year student from the Qing-dao Medical School, was monitored by the school during the "Two sessions" for up to one month because she openly claimed that she would be determined about Falun Dafa. She was not allowed to go to class during that month. After the "two sessions", she was required to quit the school because she still refused to give up her belief in Falun Gong.

At the beginning of March, 11 practitioners got detained for practicing Falun Gong together in the "May 4th Square" across to the City Hall. Among them, Ms. Yuan Chun-ju was under home arrest after being detained for one month. She has been given 3 years of forced-labor "education".

Three students from the Qing-dao University, Zhao Kai, Zhou Rui-tao and He Jun, have been illegally detained by the University for almost two months after they were caught exchanging experiences in the home of a fellow practitioner.

Liang Zhao-hui (female) , a practitioner from Qing-dao City, went to Beijing to appeal in October of 1999. After that, she went to attend the Falun Dafa experience sharing conference in Guang-zhou City. She got detained for 15 days after being arrested in Guang-zhou City. Later, she went to Beijing to appeal again and got arrested afterwards. Now her whereabouts is unknown.

During the Qing-Ming (Pure Brightness) festival, 50 practitioners from Ji-mo City held a group practice. Over 40 of them got arrested. Practitioners from Lin-shan Town of Ji-mo City, Ji Dian-hao, Li Yao-zong and Fang Zhao-liang, got detained in the Detention Center of Ji-mo City, and their homes were ransacked. Practitioner Ms. Qiu Qing-hua got detained in the detention center of Qing-dao City and her home got ransacked. The whereabouts of another 9 practitioners including Chen Zhen-hua are unknown.
