A practitioner went to Beijing to visit a childhood friend whom she had not seen for dozens of years. He was an official in the Chinese Academy of Sciences, also a member of the writing group headed by Mr. He, Zuoxiu for "exposing and attacking" Falun Gong.

When they talked about Falun Gong, that person began to recite official propaganda against Falun Gong and Teacher Li. She quietly listened until he finished. Then she asked him: "Have you ever read ZHUAN FALUN by teacher Li Hongzhi?" "No," said he.

"How could you write the criticizing articles, then?" Asked she.

He could not answer.

"Let me tell you the truth," she said again, "I am a Falun Gong practitioner myself. What have been reported by TV and newspaper are all lies."

Then she told him about her own experience and what Falun Gong is all about. Finally, she said to him, "As an old classmate, I had just told you the truth. I hope you could distance yourself from He, Zuoxiu who is doing harm to others and to himself, too. You will regret someday if you continue to do such things together with him."

"I am a materialist," he replied, "But I understand you and respect your belief."

Two months later, he called her, saying that he had decided to retire and will no longer do those things.

2. "Your Mom Is Jailed for Truth"

Ms. Liu, Can is over 70 years old. She was a former principal for a school affiliated with Guoguang Electric Tube Factory in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, China. She had been a Party member for over 30 years. Recently, she was expelled from the Party and detained as a criminal for practicing Falun Gong and appealing for Falun Gong.

On the day when she was to be taken away by police, her son and her grandson rushed back from Singapore. They knelt down in front of her crying.

"Just tell the police, you won't practice Falun Gong, OK?" Her son begged, "they told me already that if you promise not to practice again, they won't take you away."

With tears in her eyes, she gazed at her son saying, "My son, Mom will go to jail for the truth. It is worthwhile! Mom will stick to the principles of Falun Dafa. Don't feel sad for me any more."

Then police arrested her and detained her in the Lotus Village Detention Center.
