Since July 20 of last year, the public security departments in Muping district, Yantai City have willfully arrested, detained, beat up and persecuted Falun Dafa practitioners. In the lockups, as long as practitioners insisted on practicing, they were handcuffed and put in shackles. They endured "treatments" as if they were convicts on death row.
In the Public Security Station, because of his appeal, Dafa disciple Liu Guomin was tortured by two policemen from Zhengyang Police Substation for a whole night when he refused to answer their questions and did not sign their pledge. As a result, his body was covered with cuts and bruises. After he was illegally sent to a detention center, since he insisted on practicing Falun Gong, he was put in heavy shackles and the handcuffs he wore were attached to a bedpost. Therefore, he had less than one half-meter of space in which to move and was subjected to inhuman torment.
Besides detention centers and lockups, there are all kinds of local locations for detaining practitioners and holding "re-education classes." Some practitioners were detained in a Communist Party School for as long as five or six months. Policemen Du Xingmin, Zhang Xiaofeng and Yu Jianjun persecuted practitioners using psychological tactics. On the light side, they shouted curses, and on the heavy side, they used physical punishment to brutally beat practitioners.
Last July, because Yang Shuling, who was sixty years old, did not follow the rules (they forbade sitting with legs crossed in the lotus position), she was beaten up by the policeman Yu Jianjun. Her ribs were broken and her body was bruised, which caused her to spit blood for over a month. On October 1, Muping District Public Security Department illegally detained Jian Ping and another seven practitioners in a Party School. Later on, because all practitioners went on hunger-strike for five days, they were released.
It was also reported that about forty Dafa practitioners were recently arrested without any reason in Fu Shan District, Yantai City.
