Jiang Zemin discarded the collective opinions of the Central Committee (of the Chinese xx Party) and carried on his individual dictatorship. He mistakenly persecutes Falun Gong practitioners and has caused another tragedy in Chinese history. The persecution of Falun Gong has caused great losses for the government, the nation and the people.

- Practitioners' families and relatives were seriously harmed
For example, as the director of the National Sports Bureau, General Wu Shaozu had made outstanding contributions to the national sports developments. However, he had acknowledged that Falun Gong was beneficial to the people and the country, and he supported Falun Gong after he conducted an investigation of Falun Gong a few years ago. As a result, he was removed from his job. Another example is what happened to the General Secretary of Jiangsu Province, Chen Huanyou. Chen had greatly improved the economical development of Jiangsu province. Because In the recent years, he had encouraged people to practice Falun Gong to improve their health, and he was reluctant to carry out the Jiang Zemin's order to persecute Falun Gong. As a result, he was also removed from office. The same thing also happened to Wang Youlin. Wang worked for the party's Central Discipline Examination Committee. Simply because he wrote a letter to Jiang Zemin to present the truth about Falun Gong's benefits to the people and the country, he was scrutinized and prosecuted. There have been thousands of such similar cases all over the country.
One third of the people who practice Falun Gong were intellectuals. Among universities (such as Tsinghua University, Peking University, People University, etc.), research institutions and enterprises across the nation, a large number of intellectuals who practiced Falun Gong had been persecuted. Some of them were even forced to leave their jobs and had to sell vegetables to make a living. Even the prominent scientists like Qian Xuesen who had made great contributions for the country could not escape the political investigation. The Central Organizational Committee and Central Discipline Examination Committee repeatedly sent people to sway Qian, and even Jiang Zemin himself had talked to Qian and asked him to criticize Falun Gong. After the request was refused, they again tried to force Qian to make a public statement that he had not studied and supported Falun Gong in the past. This request was also declined. This kind of Cultural Revolution style political suppressions have made intellectuals both in China and abroad feel bitterly disappointed.
There are people who practice Falun Gong in the Communist party, government and army. Among them, many outstanding civil servants were dismissed from their jobs. Many honest party members were expelled from the party and the soldiers were forced to leave the army. All practitioners who worked in the party or political offices, discipline examination committees, organizational committees, foreign relations offices were fired. The working policies concerning the party officers and civil servants were recklessly undermined.
Across the country, hundreds of thousands citizens were illegally detained, sent to labor camps or sentenced because they practiced Falun Gong, wrote letters or appealed to report the truth of Falun Dafa. For the same reason, many people were brutally tortured, injured, handicapped, or even beaten to death. There were many incidences of practitioners who jumped out of buildings or jumped off trains and died in order to escape the torture of the police. Countless citizens lost their jobs and had to lead difficult lives because they practice Falun Gong.
The family members of practitioners were also harmed because of their loved ones practicing Falun Gong. Husbands and wives were forced to divorce. Parents were sent for long-term labor re-education and the children were left without being taken care of. Some practitioners were the key income earners in the family. After they were detained, neither the elderly nor the children had anybody to look after them, which caused unbearable suffering for them. The relatives of the practitioners' were forced to make guarantees with their jobs and money to ensure the practitioners would not practice and appeal. They were even not allowed to provide help to practitioners' family members. Jiang Zemin and those who persecute Falun Gong have lost their basic conscience and humanity.
- Army, police, spies, the judicial organs were employed to suppress the Falun Gong practitioners

- People were deprived of the freedom of speech
- People with predestined relationships were prevented from benefiting from Falun Gong
The Ministry of Justice specifically sent out an order, which does not allow lawyers to defend practitioners. It is disgraceful conduct to use force to suppress Falun Gong practitioners and trample the law. It is worse than the situation during the "Great Cultural Revolution."
Since last May, the Central Committee of the party has repeatedly emphasized to "treat attacking Falun Gong as the top priority and central task," and frequently held meetings to deploy the crackdown to each level of the government. It did not hesitate to employ all manpower and material resources to attack Falun Gong, which has caused the government to put aside its responsibility for economic development and replace it with the political struggle.
Falun Gong books have been translated into more than ten languages. There are people in more than 40 countries around the world who can freely and legally practice Falun Gong. Banners declaring "Falun Dafa is Righteous" can be seen everywhere from Europe to North America, from Southeast Asia to Japan, Taiwan and even Hong Kong. Falun Gong originated in China and people in many other countries therefore admire China for this reason. The persecution against kind people who practice cultivation has become a laughing stock in every country around the world. It has become the shame of overseas Chinese and has received intense objection and condemnation from people in many other countries. Jiang Zemin was seriously questioned by the journalists and condemned by practitioners when he visited several other countries. He is considered to be just another cruel dictator in the history of the world who is detested by the people.
People who practice Falun Gong are not allowed to legally defend themselves. When people went to the appealing bureaus at the different levels of the government, no matter who they were, as long as they came to appeal for Falun Gong, they would be sent to the police for detention. All those appealing letters for Falun Gong were blocked. This kind of conduct of fearing people who speak and voice their reasons and strangling the freedom of speech is the worst among all the tyrannies in Chinese history.
Because of Jiang Zemin's brutal persecution, many practitioners who had just begun their practice abandoned Falun Gong out of fear. Many people who would have benefited from the practice lost their opportunity due to the fear of being persecuted. Authorities in different parts of the country had told Falun Gong practitioners that the government would rather see people sick and spend money in the hospital than letting people practice Falun Gong and be disease free. Many people would have been fortunate by being able to practice Falun Gong, but now they have to continue to suffer from their diseases and disasters. Many people who had previously benefited from the practice soon passed away after they gave up the practice, from fear of the political suppression.
These are the disastrous consequences of persecuting Falun Gong. However, people may still not know that suppressing one hundred million kind citizens, going against the will of heaven, and violating human morality, will bring greater disasters to the entire populace of China.
