Liu Hongwei is a 30 year-old female. She worked for the Dongfang Corporation in Laixi city, Shandong province. She has been practicing Falun Gong for three years. She used to suffer from a brain tumor and had to undergo two big operations. Therefore, her body was extremely weak. Because of her sickness, her husband divorced her.
After she started practicing Falun Gong, her health improved rapidly and has recovered from her sickness. She felt that Falun Dafa is indeed great and it was Falun Dafa that gave her a new life. On May 26 of this year, she practiced in the Wangcheng War Memorial public park. She was arrested and held in custody by the police in the Wangcheng local police station. On the 28th of October, Sui Guoqing, Zhang Luning and other policemen from Laixi City Police Department went to her home and wanted to take away her Falun Dafa books. To protect the books, Liu Hongwei tried to introduce and explain Falun Gong to the police. They disregarded her explanation and took her books by force. She cut her wrist hoping to stop them with her life. To prevent others from knowing about this, the police of Laixi city prevented her from contacting other practitioners, and sent her to the People's Hospital of Laixi city. Later, she was moved secretly to the city's mental hospital, where she suffered inhuman tortures. She was forced to receive daily injections and drugs that were meant for the mentally ill. She has become extremely weak, lacking in spirit and insensitive to stimulations. She has been fired by her company, has no income and is living by herself. She needs basic living assistance. She appeals to all kind-hearted people in the world to give us support, so we could get the justice and the basic rights that we deserve, and to enjoy the rights that were given to every citizen by the Constitution.
Chen Yujie of Laixi, Shandong Province went to Beijing twice to appeal in June and July. She was arrested and sent to the Laiyang Psychology Recovery Hospital in Laixi city. It is a mental hospital.
In the hospital, he was met by a director named Li Tao. Chen said to him, "please don't give me any injection, I am not ill. I am sent here because of my firm faith in Falun Dafa." Li Tao said indifferently, "You are ill. We specialize in treating Falun Gong." Since July of last year, many practitioners have been sent here. Six practitioners were there when Chen arrived.
When Chen was sent to a ward, she saw a woman in her fifties being fastened to a bed while being injected with a drug. The woman yelled, "Nurse, I need to use the restroom." The nurse cursed, "Do so on the bed!" It happened that this practitioner refused to receive an injection, so they restrained her before giving her the injection. The nurse didn't even bother untying her. She ordered a mental patient to place a urination pot on her bed, loosened her pants and let her urinate into the pot. A male doctor was to diagnose Chen. He shouted at Chen, "What sickness do you have?" Chen said, "I practice Falun Gong; I am not ill." The doctor said, "You are anti-revolution. When you are here, you'd better follow our orders. If not you will end up like her."
The second day in the mental institute, they didn't even care if Chen was sick or not before giving her injections. Chen said to the nurse, "I am not sick. You're doing this against your occupation's moral codes." The nurse didn't listen to her and she said, "There is no room for you to speak here. Everyone sent here is considered sick. I only take care of the injections." The process of treatment is ten days, and they increased the drug's dose by 10 to 20 times more than normal. They then observe if a practitioner could still do the exercises at night. If a practitioner does the exercises, they will increase the dose. Under the influence of the drugs, the practitioners could do nothing but eat and sleep. Their eyes' ability to focus attenuated and attention spans weakened; their arms and legs became weak and numb, and therefore they could no longer practice the exercises. What the doctor "healed" has in fact destroyed their ability to practice.
During the process, three practitioners went on a hunger strike. The nurse taunted, "I am not afraid of this, feed them through their noses!" That nurse did so as if just doing her job and showed no signs of sympathy. She said that the practitioners deserved this, and she added that last year the policemen sent many practitioners here, and after feeding them through pipes they had to start eating again. To torture the practitioners, they tied them on their beds and didn't release them even when they needed to use the restroom. They also shouted at the practitioners often, complaining that they are very troublesome.
Chen was held in custody for 45 days. A practitioner from Rushan was held there for 50 days.
