October 1st is the National Day of China. On the morning of October 1, 2000, although Tiananmen Square in Beijing had been decorated with many shining flowers and plants; it gave people a feeling of hypocrisy.
Today is the date that we had agreed to step forward together at Tiananmen Square to validate Dafa. Right after 6:30AM, another practitioner and I arrived at the square. There were many tourists, they started to leave after watching the flag-raising ceremony; there were relatively fewer people walking toward the inside of the square at that time. Many lines of military police assembled in the under-ground passes around the square. It was relatively quite inside, except that there were many police and police vehicles, and the ground was very dirty. We walked around the national flag and the monument several times. We could see there were many practitioners from outside of Beijing. However, the proportion of practitioners to the number of people in the square was not high, most of them were tourists.
We had already tried to contact as many practitioners as possible, but the scope of our contacts was still too small. Practitioners who were able to reach here were not as many as we had expected. Some practitioners were still on their way. Many more practitioners still had not planned to come to Tiananmen Square.
After circling around, we began to wait quietly. We thought that with the number of practitioners right now, we wouldn't be able to reach the expected effect. At about 7:30AM, we walked around the square one more time, and still felt it was not the right time yet. All of us had hoped that this would be a group cultivation action as a whole; not like the scattered, quickly arrested actions before.
At about 9:00 AM, we start to move towards the north side to check out the security and traffic conditions around the square. We found the police had started to stop the tourists. We walked toward the east and saw a big bus loaded with people. People in the bus were shouting something, but we could not hear clearly because of the distance. We knew however something happened, and it must be Dafa (the great law) disciples. We walked quickly towards the north side, towards the crowds. We saw the police had drawn a security line to keep the tourists outside. There were many policemen inside, arresting practitioners. Many plainclothes policemen constantly broke into the crowds to pull Dafa practitioners out. Dafa practitioners inside the crowd fearlessly told the people around the truth of Falun Dafa, they had already put their life and death aside. A practitioner from Mudanjiang city whom I know raised a banner reading "Falun Dafa is Good!" and safely returned into the crowd during the arrest. Later, that practitioner raised the banner again. Practitioners constantly stepped forward to validate the innocence of Dafa and to tell people in the crowd that Dafa is good, Dafa has been persecuted wrongly and Dafa has endured injustice. Practitioners were constantly arrested and one bus was filled up very quickly. All of the arrested practitioners shouted on the bus: "Falun Dafa is good!" The window was shut (by the police), opened (by the practitioners), shut again, and opened again, just because they wanted to tell people: "Falun Dafa is Good!" Practitioners had told the world "Falun Dafa is Good!" with their pure and most compassionate hearts. While facing violence and evil, they were not moved by it at all. Seeing this scene, we were moved to tears. Even the tourists kept cheering and applauding Dafa practitioners.
One practitioner took out the flyer "We call on Peace" after being put in the bus and threw it to the crowd through the bus window. A very old couple, leaning their walking sticks, talked in the crowd about the benefits of Falun Dafa and the injustice and brutality of Jiang Zemin. The old couple often raised sounds of praise from the tourists surrounding them. The tourists expressed their detestation against what Jiang has done. Later, many uniformed and plainclothes police rushed in and I was separated with them. Probably those two respectful elders were also arrested.
On the other side there was a very obvious contrast: a family of three were mistaken by the plainclothes police as Dafa practitioners when they were taking pictures in front of a flower pot. The plainclothes police hit them on their heads and faces with police clubs. Their camera was broken; there were blue marks on their heads and faces. They started to shout abuse and curse very loudly at the police around them. The police looked at each other, they knew people who curse must not be Dafa practitioners.
Within the security lines, many Dafa disciples had been arrested. Outside the security lines, more practitioners were telling people in the crowd why Falun Gong practitioners came to Tiananmen Square to clarify the Truth and expose the evil and violence on National Day, and why the police beat practitioners. Our fellow practitioners are using their lives, their flesh body to validate the great virtue of Dafa. They have dissolved their hearts and bodies into the Fa and completely forgot about themselves. We wanted to join them and stand by their sides very much, but we knew we should send Minghui net the quickest and most direct report as soon as possible. We wanted to let more practitioners and more people in the world hear the appeal from the bottom of our hearts. We hope everybody will take action, we hope all the genuine practitioners will soon play a roll as a particle in the Fa rectification, and can initiate more practitioners to step forward and follow closely with Master's process of Fa rectification.
