Intellectuals Remain Determined about Falun Dafa in "Transformation Class"

A short while ago, an Institute in Beijing held a 2-week "transformation class" for three Falun Gong practitioners. Although they had been threatened with the sacrifice of their salary, apartments and job-titles etc, their attitude made the officials of the institute disappointed. It was said the central authorities had also paid attention to the "transformation class".
In the "transformation class", the officials tried in vain to make use of the case of that PhD student from Tsinghua University to change these three practitioners. These three practitioners, who were also highly educated intellectuals, thought that the reason that the PhD student ended up being utilized by the Chinese communist regime was because that he had not understood Falun Dafa in a rational way. They thought that they might need to improve themselves in some aspects of their cultivation during the "transformation class".
A Practitioner from Qinhuangdao Has Been Detained Since October 1999
I am a citizen from Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province. I went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong on October 20, 1999. I only meant to tell the government my personal positive experience of practicing Falun Dafa. I only wanted to exercise the right of appeal conferred by the Constitution. I did not yell nor make a noise. I obeyed the country's law voluntarily. I did not disturb the social orders. However, I was kidnapped on the Tiananmen Square by the police and then escorted back to the Qinhuangdao Police department.
I was then detained here for the accusation of "disturbing social orders". They kept prolonging my detention without any reason. I have been in police custody since October 20, 1999.
Practitioners Were Not Allowed to Do Good Deed for the Public
Several days ago, it had a big snow. The snow on the road was pressed into ice by the buses, which was very slippery. People often fell. Eleven practitioners volunteered to shovel the ice. On the third day, their respective officials in their workplaces called them back and did not allow them to continue to do the voluntary work. Because the workplaces feared that the government would know this and then find trouble with them.
It was said that in Qi-tai-he there was a practitioner in his 60s. Several days ago, he went to Beijing and attempted to donate 5,000 Yuan (half annual income of an average Chinese worker) to the country, because Falun Dafa made him healthy and enabled him to save 5000 Yuan on medical expenses. He was arrested on the spot and sent back to his hometown for the forced labor education.
Practitioners Held Up A Falun Emblem Banner on The Golden Water Bridge (with Photo)
One day in the middle of January, two practitioners held up a banner with Falun Emblem at the center of the Golden Water Bridge. After about one minute, the armed police seized it away from them. Many practitioners started to practice Falun Dafa exercises when the banner was held up. It was a very moving scene.
