Case Description:

(Minghui.org) A once happy family in Jiutai City, Jilin Province was shattered by the persecution of Falun Gong.

Ms. Wang Yulan, her husband, Mr. Xue Shuyi, and their two daughters began practicing Falun Gong in 1998 and all became healthy. Ms. Wang's parents-in-law were very supportive of the younger generations' practice of Falun Gong.

Ms. Wang and Mr. Xue were arrested in March 2000 for appealing for Falun Gong in Beijing. They were both detained for 15 days. Their older daughter, Ms. Xue Han, also went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. She too was detained for 15 days. She was only 15 at the time.

The police arrested Mr. Xue again in June 2000 and gave him one year of forced labor. He was subjected to various forms of abuse at Yinmahe Labor Camp. In October that year, his mother, who was traumatized by his arrest, became critically ill and he was allowed to go home and visit his mother briefly. She passed away in late December that year, when he was still detained.

Mr. Xue contracted Tuberculosis in the labor camp. He was unable to talk and bedridden when he was released in March 2001. He died on March 18, 2002.

Mr. Xue's salary had been suspended in 2000. Mr. Wang had long been laidoff. She struggled to support her daughtes and parents-in-law.

Ms. Wang was arrested in November 2003 and sentenced to three years in prison. Her two daughters were 18 and 9 years old at the time. The older girl, Ms. Xue Han, took care of her little sister and elderly grandparents. The police showed up at their home to harass them. Ms. Xue Han developed Tuberculosis and pleurisy, but the prison refused to allow Ms. Wang to visit her daughter.

Ms. Xue died in June 2006. She was 21.
