Case Description:
Mr. Zhao Xudong, 34 years old, was an employee of Lanzhou City Chemical Industry Company in Gansu Province. On December 7, 2003, he had a conversation with about a dozen practitioners at his home. Policemen led by Pei Huaiwei from the National Security Brigade arrested him and then put him into Lanzhou City Hualinshan No. 2 Detention Center. Mr. Zhao died on February 7, 2004 from torture. Several days before his death, Zhao had already been tortured to his last gasp but was transferred to the Prison Hospital. He passed away there several days later.
