Case Description:

Since the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started the persecution of Falun Gong on July 20, 1999, Wu Yingzi has been to Beijing to appeal for Falun Dafa three times. She was arrested and detained at Tiananmen Square Detention Center, where she was brutally tortured all three times. She was only released after her physical condition became serious. After she returned home, local police detained her at Wangqing Detention Center, and then sent her to Heizuizi Women's Forced Labor Camp in Changchun for one year.

After she was released from the forced labor camp the first time, Ms. Wu continued telling people the facts about Falun Gong and was again sent to Heizuizi Women's Forced Labor Camp. After she returned from the forced labor camp the second time, she sent truth clarification materials to fellow practitioners. She was arrested again and sent to Helong Detention Center for three years, but she was released after her physical condition became serious. Because she was aware that local CCP officials still wanted to persecute her, she did not return home upon her release and became homeless in order to avoid further persecution. She was arrested again while clarifying the truth in nearby areas. She was sentenced to three years of forced labor and sent to Heizuizi Women's Forced Labor Camp again. She was released again after her physical condition became serious.

In all, Wu Yingzi was taken to detention centers three times and was detained for more than 70 days.

Quan Qingyou, commander of Wangqing Domestic Security Division, together with more than 20 police officers from Wangqing Town Police Station, broke into Wu Yingzi's home. They arrested six Dafa practitioners and ransacked the house. Ms. Wu was detained at Zhongan Detention Center in Wangqing County.

When Ms. Wu was distributing truth clarification materials at around 4:00 p.m. on December 25, 2007, she was arrested by police from Wangqing Town Police Station. She was detained at Zhongan Detention Center.

She was again arrested at her home by police from Wangqing Town Police Station at around 3:30 p.m. on July 2, 2008. The police ransacked her home and detained her at Zhongan Detention Center.

On July 30, 2009, five police officers from Wangqing Town Police Station drove to Wu Yingzi's home, broke down the door and ransacked her home. Ms. Wu escaped, but was not able to return home. When she did return home to get some clothes on the morning of August 5, 2009, she was arrested by police, who had been on a stake-out near her home.

At Wangqing Brainwashing center, Wu Yingzi was persecuted so severely that she developed a serious heart condition and her blood pressure shot up. At the time, police told her to go home and said that they would arrest her again after she recovered. The elderly woman was forced to become homeless to avoid further persecution.

Ms. Wu passed away on July 17, 2010.
