Mr. Ou Keshun was born in 1962 in Songyu Village, Wangcheng Township, Linli County. On the morning of January 20, 2001, while being unlawfully detained, he protested with a hunger strike. Police officers coerced detained drug addicts to torture him until he vomited blood and died at the Changde City Drug Addiction Center.
