Case Description:
On March 30, 2021, Ms. Zhang Shuxiang, a 73-year-old Beijing resident, passed away, two years after she was taken back home by an ambulance. She was arrested on June 21, 2017 and sentenced to three years in Beijing Women’s Prison. The torture in prison left her bedridden. After she was released on April 3, 2019, the local authorities continued to harass her, and suspended her pension, which eventually caused her quick death.
