Case Description:

(Minghui.org) Ms. Shao Ziying and her husband, Mr. Wang Xudong, residents of Liaocheng City, Shandong Province, were repeatedly arrested for their faith in Falun Gong.


Ms. Shao was detained for about one week in 2000 and forced to pay 5,000 yuan. She was arrested again in 2001 and sentenced to four and half years in prison on July 20, 2001. She and four other sentenced practitioners were paraded through streets before being taken to Shandong Province Women's Prison.


Ms. Shao was arrested a third time on July 20, 2011 and detained for more than twenty days. Her fourth arrest took place on June 12, 2012, with her detained for one month.


Ms. Shao and her husband were home on March 28, 2018 when more than two dozens of officers broke in and arrested them. The couple was taken to Liaocheng City Detention Center.


Ms. Shao was released on April 11, 2018 due to her poor health. Mr. Wang also suffered from some medical condition and was sent to a local Chinese Medicine hospital, where he was denied family visits. The local procuratorate twice returned his case to the police but eventually filed an indictment against him.


Mr. Wang was sentenced to 9 years and sent to Jinan Prison around March 20, 2019. Officer Zhou Shengqiao was responsible for his arrest.


Ms. Shao died on April 19, 2019. She was in her 60s.
