Zhao Fuchen - 赵福臣
(Minghui.org) Mr. Zhao Fuchen, a resident of Qinghe County, Hebei Province, lived in poverty and also suffered from poor health. He almost lost hope in life when he came across Falun Gong. He became healthy enough to start a family business and have a better life.
Mr. Zhao was detained for 15 days and forced to pay 2,000 yuan shortly after the persecution of Falun Gong began in July 1999. He was arrested again in 2000 for appealing for Falun Gong in Beijing. He was released on bail one month later.
One day in 2004, Mr. Zhao was caring for his ill mother when a group of officers broke in and took him to a brainwashing center. His mother was traumatized and died shortly afterwards.
Mr. Zhao' aunt in Linfen County, Shanxi Province passed away in 2007. While on the train to attend her funeral, Mr. Zhao was arrested for talking to other passengers about Falun Gong. He was sentenced to three years in Jinzhong Prison, where he was brutally tortured and forced to do unpaid labor.
Mr. Zhao became incontient and had difficulty walking as a result of the torture. His wife fell ill during his imprisonment and died in March 2011. Three months later, Mr. Zhao was arrested again and sent to a brainwashing center.
Mr. Zhao filed a lawsuit against Jiang Zemin on June 14, 2015. He died on January 18, 2016. He was 66.
