Case Description:

(Minghui.org) Mr. Shao Zhongye was a bus driver in Dandong City, Liaoning Province. He went to Beijing multiple times to appeal for Falun Gong after the persecution began in July 1999. He was twice given forced labor, in 1999 and 2001, respectively, for a total of four years. His workplace deceived into going to a brainwashing center to be detained in 2004.


Mr. Shao was arrested in October 2005 and sentenced to five years in prison. He suffered brutal torture and was paralyzed at one point.


He filed a lawsuit against Jiang Zemin in May 2015. The police harassed him at home afterwards and he urged them to stop the persecution of Falun Gong.


Mr. Shao developed severe lung problems and died on December 22, 2016. He was 71.
