(Clearwisdom.net) On November 28, 2008, the Xian District Court in Mudanjiang City, Heilongjiang Province, illegally held a hearing for four Falun Dafa practitioners, Yang Bailiang, Li Haifeng, and two others. Practitioner Li Congjun from Jidong, along with relatives and friends, went to the courthouse to try and listen to the hearing, but the court officials prohibited them from entering, so they stood by the roadside outside the courthouse and waited for the news. Police officers Peng Fuming and others from the National Security Group and the Mudanjing Police Department then arrested them. Li Congjun was cruelly beaten by the police during the arrest. His eye and eye socket turned black and blue. Li Congjun had gotten out of prison just six months prior.
Mr. Li is about 47 years old and is a worker at the 8501 Farm in Jidong County. After he started practicing Falun Gong, he respected his parents more, became kinder to his wife and child, and developed a very good relationship with his neighbors. Nevertheless, he has been sentenced to forced labor again and again since 2000 and is still detained in the Suihua Forced Labor Camp.
Before cultivating Dafa, Li Congjun often hit and cursed at people, and he drank and smoked. His wife couldn't tolerate his behavior and divorced him in 1998. In March 1999, Mr. Li got the precious book Zhuan Falun. After he read the book one time, he eliminated all his bad habits including drinking and gambling. He totally changed into a different person. He reconciled with his ex-wife and wanted to restore their marriage. However, officers from the 8510 Police Department did all they could to obstruct the process and confiscated both of their identification cards. In October 2008 they finally re-married.
At about 6:00 p.m. on November 24, 2004, officer Lu Weibin from the 8510 Police Department and other officers from the Jidong Police Department pounded on the door of Li Congjun's house. Mr. Li refused to open the door. The police pounded and yelled and kept it up for a long time. In the end, they jumped into the courtyard from the roof and opened the door. There were six or seven officers from the Jidong Police Department who broke into Li Conjun's house. They beat and kicked him, handcuffed him by force, dragged him barefoot over 200 meters, and squeezed him into the police car. That night, he was taken to the Jidong Police Department where officers tried to extort a confession out of him using torture. They hit his foot with a police baton and a white plastic tube about a hundred times until the police tired. Li Congjun was detained at the Jidong Detention Center for a year and a half and was then sentenced to three years and six months. He was then detained in Jiamusi Prison in Heilongjiang Province. He got out of prison in May 2008. Due to the three and half years of persecution, one of his eyes was damaged (it still has yellow liquid) and one of his legs was broken (it's now recovered).
Just six months after Li Congjun got out of the prison and five months after he remarried his wife, Li Congjun was captured again in November 2008. The police detained him in the Mudanjiang Detention Center for over two months and once again sent him to a forced labor camp. During that period of time, his family went to the National Security Group of Mudanjiang and asked for his release, but they were turned down. The National Security Group in Mudanjiang had no legal basis for his detention or labor camp sentence. The so-called evidence was made up by police officer Lu Weibin from the 8510 Farm.
Dafa practitioner Li Congjiang is currently detained and being persecuted at the Suihua Forced Labor Camp in Heilongjiang Province.
