(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Wei Xingzhi, 54 years old and single, is a Falun Gong practitioner from Shuiguohu District, Wuchang Region, Wuhan City, Hubei Province. She is a nursery teacher at the No. 2 Kindergarten of the Provincial Governmental Affiliations of Hubei Province. Because of her belief in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance and Falun Gong, she was sentenced to forced labor, subjected to brainwashing, and dismissed from her job. Her salary has been suspended for seven years.

In early June 2003, Ms. Wei was arrested and taken to the First Detention Center of Wuhan City while she was at work. At the same time, her home was ransacked by police. She was later sentenced to forced labor and detained in the Sixth Group of the Hewan Forced Labor Camp of Wuhan City. The police forbade her from taking a shower in the scorching July conditions and deprived her of sleep for twenty days. There was no chair or bench in her confinement cell. Several drug-addict prisoners, at the orders of prison guards, closely watched her and took turns forcing her to stand for long periods of time as punishment. She was not allowed to sit on the ground, or the prisoners would drag her up and pour water on the ground to prevent her from sitting. Prison guards ordered the prisoners to fasten her to the window bars when she refused to stand.

In September 2003, Ms. Wei was transferred to the Ninth Group of the Shayang Forced Labor Camp in Hubei Province. During the day she was forced to do heavy labor, and at night she was not allowed to sleep. Prison guards instigated some prisoners to force her to give up her belief in Falun Gong by forcing her to crouch or stand for long periods of time. She was sometimes awakened to work after only one hour of sleep. One time, she was deprived of sleep for several consecutive nights, and was beaten if she closed her eyes to take a break. If she failed to do what the prison guards wanted, she was cruelly beaten. Her legs were bruised, her eyes were black, and her ears were swollen. A prisoner stepped on her feet and pressed her toe so hard that her toenail blackened and later fell off. A drug-addict prisoner sometimes hit her back with a small bench and burned her hands with a cigarette. Suffering so much, Ms. Wei was emaciated. Even the prison guards said that she looked much older than before.

On September 3, 2004, one year after Ms. Wei was held and mistreated in the Shayang Forced Labor Camp, she was taken way from the Ninth Group by Wang Dianping, former CCP committee secretary at her workplace, and a female officer from the Shuiguohu Police Station. She was then sent to the so-called "Law Education Center" in Hubei Province, which is also know as the Tangxunhu Brainwashing Center. After one month of mistreatment, she was taken back home by Wang Dianping and Liu Chengbao, a chief officer from the Provincial Governmental Management Bureau of Hubei Province. However, they didn't allow her to return to work and warned her with threats not to go to Wuhan, where her home is. Later, Ms. Wei went to her home in Wuhan, and Wang Dianping and another official at her workplace went to her home and said to her, "You are fired. From now on, you have nothing to do with us." Ms. Wei went to her workplace and asked the director, Li Fenglian (female), why they had fired her. Li replied with the excuse that she had violated the regulations.

Ms. Wei then asked Li Fenglian for her unemployment documents so that she could present the mistreatment she had suffered to the authorities, but Li told her that she could not find them. She furiously said, "You go ahead with your belief, but that belief is forbidden here." In a meeting at the kindergarten, Li announced that no one would be allowed to mention anything about Ms. Wei's work or salary if she persisted in her belief. She even issued an order to the gatekeeper to bar Ms. Wei from entering the kindergarten.

After Ms. Wei began practicing Falun Gong she recovered from the illnesses she had and regained good health, without spending any governmental money. She held herself to the Falun Gong principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance in her work, but because she refused to give up Falun Gong, she was dismissed from her job by the CCP and financially ruined, as she has had no income since 2001. Ms. Wei wrote to Li Zihua, former chief of the Provincial Governmental Management Bureau, Wang Dianping, and Li Fenglian, but no one responded.
