(Clearwisdom.net) Shen Yun Performing Arts 2009 World Tour graced the stage for the third time at the Queensland Conservatorium Theatre on Friday, April 10. Mr. Schubert, business owner and wedding singer, said his favorite part of seeing Shen Yun was actually his daughter's reaction. His seven-year-old daughter "ah'd" the "whole way through" the show. "It's just been a cultural awakening for her--it's been incredible. ... She has just been glued to it," he said.

As for himself, Mr. Schubert enthused, "It's really been an eye-opener, very exciting! The culture ... it's so rich, and the depth of it is incredible. There's such a rich depth and history that China has ... it's throwing it so wide open for us. It's been a real eye-opener!"

Mr. Schubert said about the modern day representation of life in China for Falun Dafa practitioners as shown in the piece, "Heaven Awaits Us Despite Persecution," "The separation of the family, for me ... was very powerful, moved me almost to tears. It was beautiful, a beautiful dance."

Reflecting on the themes of the show, Mr. Schubert said, "It's like a journey through China's culture and the history. They've gone back as far as famous poets [Li Bai, from the Tang Dynasty]."

Musician Finds Powerful Message in Shen Yun

Joining the highly appreciative audience were Ms. Malia and Mr. Haimona. Because he is a musician, Mr. Haimona paid particular attention to the music, and found a powerful message in the lyrics of the vocal artists-tenor Qu Yuan, soprano Hsu Jia-ning, contralto Yang Jiansheng and world-renowned tenor Guan Guimin.

"If you look at the words on the screen when the singers were singing ... There is a meaning behind it. The words were simple, but it [gave] good meaning to your life. It was delivered well."

Ms. Malia particularly noted the way the male dancers moved, "They are really powerful. I think the whole thing was fantastic. The men were very energetic in their performance. And the women, their hand movements were very gentle, very effective. I looked at them, I [could not] find how they can do it."

Mr. Haimona added, "There is a lot to watch!"

Drama Students Appreciate Shen Yun

Twenty-five drama students from the University of Queensland joined the enthusiastic audience in welcoming Shen Yun to Brisbane. Several students shared their impressions after seeing Shen Yun for the first time.

On students named Emma said, "It was nice, pretty spectacular. The actual performances were beautiful and the costumes, really beautiful! The dancing was lovely. It was really cool hearing some of the stories."

In the group there was another student named Emma. She was greatly impressed by all aspects of Shen Yun's performances. "Beautiful costumes, beautiful people! It definitely gives you themes [that] come across very strongly. In this Western country, I didn't know much about Chinese culture [and] Chinese traditional dance."

Lizzy, who is studying for a double major in drama and production at the university, thoroughly enjoyed seeing Shen Yun. "Well, because I'm interested in production, I love the cohesion of costume. It was beautiful aesthetically, and as a picture, it was very beautiful."

Lizzy said she had never seen classical Chinese dance before, but "as soon as the curtain went up the first time, it was like: Wow! How exciting! I sort of caught my breath, it was just so beautiful."

She was impressed by the unique digital backdrops, "I really enjoyed that. It was very different and at first I was like, 'What is this backdrop?' I thought it was really exciting ... interesting and a different piece. I loved the cohesion of it all, it worked really well together."

Lizzy said she would highly recommend others to see the show. "I think it's worth making the effort to come to see it. It's something that you wouldn't normally get an experience to see."
