(Clearwisdom.net) On the evening of March 13, 2009, Divine Performing Arts (DPA) Touring Company staged in the William B. Bell Auditorium, City of Augusta, Georgia. Mr. Deke Copenhaver, Mayor of the City of Augusta, Georgia, proclaimed March 13, 2009, to be "The Divine Performance Arts Day" and urged all citizens to recognize and applaud the talent and enthusiasm of each performer as well as enjoy and appreciate The Divine Performing Arts Chinese Spectacular.

In Recognition of "The Divine Performing Arts Chinese Spectacular"

Whereas, In 2008, The Divine performing Arts Chinese Spectacular dazzled over 600,000 live audience members in more than 60 cities on four continents, making it the largest world-class Chinese performance tour in the world; and

Whereas, The Divine Performing Arts Chinese Spectacular uses the expression of Chinese classical dance, showcasing genuine traditional Chinese culture; and

Whereas, Based in New York, The Divine Performing Arts is a nonprofit organization that is consciously independent of China's regime, under which the traditional arts have suffered for decades; and

Whereas, The Divine Performing Arts seeks to breathe new life into traditional Chinese culture and to provide an experience of sublime beauty and are commended for their achievements in rediscovering the traditional cultural arts of China; and

Whereas, The Divine Performing Arts Chinese Spectacular blends the divine charm of the East with the holiday spirit of the West; and

Whereas, This year's show brings to the same stage a collaboration of leading artists, dancers, musicians, vocalists and a live orchestra; and

Whereas, With the unique use of background scenery, costumes and choreography, the Chinese Spectacular is a wonderful cultural observance for the community; and

Whereas, We are thankful for the New Times Culture and Education Center and Southeast US Falun Dafa Association's efforts to bring the best of Chinese culture to the Great Augusta Area and the entire world; and

Now, Therefore, I, Deke Copenhaver, Mayor of the City of Augusta, do hereby proclaim March 13, 2009, as "The Divine Performing Arts Day" in Augusta, Georgia, and urge all citizens to recognize and applaud the talent and enthusiasm of each performer as well as enjoy and appreciate The Divine Performing Arts Chinese Spectacular's interpretation of Chinese culture.
