Vice President of Research Institute: Pleasing to the mind and eyes and lives up to its reputation

Mr. Ting I-Hao, Vice President of Taiwan Sustainable Development Institute (TSDI), commented during the intermission, "The performance was very delicate. The dance skills were impressive. The two vocalists were outstanding. It's very admirable and pleasing to the mind and eyes. The more I saw, the more I felt that it has lived up to its reputation. I'm very pleased. This is something worth promoting. Plus it also demonstrates many meanings of religion and life. If you watch it carefully, you should get a lot from it. I recommend those who have not seen this to do so."

Mr. Ting added, "The performance was very touching and very good. The overall coordination was outstanding. They were all top performers. What's more important is that the programs were so well arranged. They have done a good job interpreting China's 5,000 years of culture, from ancient to modern times. It was exceptionally good; the music was very moving."

'I'll come see it again if I have the chance'

Mr. Ting also said, "I liked every program from the bottom of my heart. If you asked me which one I liked the best, I would say the one about the persecution of Falun Gong. I think everyone who watched it carefully could see it and feel it. Although the performers said nothing or made any accusations, they expressed it through music and dance. It was an extraordinary arrangement and subtly presented the facts."

Mr. Ting, who used to teach at the University of Oklahoma in the United States, also commented on the stage backdrop, "The backdrop was great. For example, in "The Poet's Vision," the immortal fairies came down to earth, flew up, and then came back down. It was very a creative design. The performance gives one a good feeling. The performances I had seen in the U.S. in the past were modern and spiritual. They did not have the inner meaning or depth of the DPA's performance, rich with the magnificent Chinese culture. It is not easy to express it with music and dance. Initially I thought that I did not want to see a dance performance, but after watching the show, I felt that it's worth seeing again. I encourage more people to come see it."

CEO of Research Institute: I'm deeply moved

Mr. Jiang Wenguo, CEO of TSDI, expressed his appreciation by saying, "This is very unusual and very touching. After all, this is traditional Chinese dance, which is very different from the performances of the West and China that we usually see. This performance incorporated modern and traditional elements; the overall performance, music and dancers touched people's hearts. It has something to do with religion, but not the religion that is passed down from our ancient history. Chinese culture is gradually being emphasized, and even Westerners can accept it."

Mr. Jiang said, "This is the first time I have seen the DPA's performance. I wanted to come last year, but I wasn't able to because I was out of the country. This year I ordered the tickets very early to be certain that I would experience this show. I feel very good and warm, and I'm deeply moved. The overall performance was excellent and opened people's minds. With life being so chaotic and people stressed about the financial situation, the show was a great escape."

Mr. Jiang also talked about TSDI, "TSDI is a civilian academic research organization, and the founder is Dr. Mei. We also put great emphasis on Chinese culture. I think Chinese culture has been lost in China for such a long time, and many cultural elements have disappeared. However, Divine Performing Arts comes from the United States, which does not make the production easy, but it certainly turned out to be very, very good."
