1. [Beijing] Ms. Li Xiuqing Arrested--No Additional Information sI Available

Ms. Li Xiuqing, a practitioner from Beijing, was arrested before the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. Her relatives went to the police station to ask for her release but got no answer. No further information is currently available.

2. [Beijing] Ms. Jiang Arrested

Ms. Jiang, 67, is a practitioner from Beijing. On January 19, 2009, the police arrested her in a supermarket, where she was distributing "truth clarification" materials about the persecution of Falun Gong. She is currently being detained in Beijing's Changping Detention Center.

3. [Diaobingshan City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Bao Jinglin Arrested

About 10:00 p.m. on January 30, 2009, officers from Daming Police Station arrested Ms. Bao Jinglin, 53, a practitioner from Daming Town, Diaobingshan City, who was reported after telling people the facts about the persecution. She is now being held in Diaobingshan City Detention Center.

4. [Liaoning Province] Several Practitioners Detained in Prison

In late 2008, twelve practitioners were sent to Xihu Prison, Benxi City, where the guards used many forms of torture in an attempt to "transform" them. They poured cold water onto them, stuck bamboo under their fingernails, beat them with electric batons, deprived them of sleep, etc.

5. [Jidong County, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Guo Jishu Sentenced to Prison Term

Around January 10, 2009, Jidong County Court held an open session and sentenced Ms. Guo Jishu to a three-year prison term. She is currently being detained in Jixi City No. 2 Detention Center.

6. [Hebei Province] Ms. Chen Man Arrested and Held in Detention Center

About 5:00 p.m. on January 30, 2009, the police arrested Ms. Chen Man, 69, a practitioner from Xuanhua District, Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province, while she was distributing flyers clarifying the truth of the persecution of Falun Gong in front of Nanguan Police Station in the Xuanhua District of Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province. She was taken to the local detention center. On the afternoon of January 31, 2009, she returned home safely after being unconditionally released.

7. [Yuci City, Shanxi Province] Three Practitioners Arrested and Their Homes Ransacked

On January 25, 2009, officers from Yuci City Police Bureau arrested Ms. Wang Gedan, 56; Ms. Li Hainiu, in her fifties; and Ms. Zhou Gaiying, in her fifties, all practitioners from Zhangqing Village, Yuci City, in the central area of Shanxi Province, while they were on their way to distribute informational materials. Their homes were all ransacked. They are currently being held in Yuci Detention Center.

8. [Lezhi County, Ziyang City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Wu Hongling and Her Son Arrested

On July 22, 2008, Ms. Wu Hongling, 38, a practitioner from Lezhi County, Ziyang, Sichuan Province, was reported to the police while she was distributing informational materials and copies of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party in Panlong Town, Lezhi County. Officers from the Lezhi Police Bureau arrested her and took her to Lezhi Detention Center. Her son, Mr. Huang Liji, 18 years old, was also arrested. He was later taken to the Ziyang Er'e Brainwashing Center.

On December 22, 2009, Ziyang Intermediate Court sentenced Ms. Wu Hongling to a four-year prison term. She is currently imprisoned in Jianyang Women's Prison.
