A Poet: The splendid show brings us hope

Edward Kang is a poet from San Diego. He attended the final show on December 28 and said enthusiastically, "I loved the show. If I had to describe it in one word, it is 'Splendid!' The show brings everybody hope." He said that the underlying meaning of the show went far beyond what could be seen on the surface, which he thought was what made the show pure, beautiful, and splendid.

Mr. Kang continued by commenting that, in our world today, there is seldom something that can touch our souls. The music in the DPA show did touch his soul and every program contained something at a spiritual level.

He said that the gorgeous costumes and brilliant stage designs, coupled with the animated effects on the backdrop, integrated with dance artists, added to the magnificence of the entire show. He thought that the vocalists and pianists were outstanding, like a dreamlike "rainbow."

He concluded, "The show goes beyond the scope of language. I don't understand Chinese, but I could understand what the dancers said to me. Regardless of what background people are from, they can get their 'rainbows.'"

Law enforcement officer: I liked the message that the DPA show conveyed

Mr. Gary Helson brought his wife and daughter to the DPA show at the San Diego Civic Theater

Gary Helson works in the San Diego District Attorney's office. He said that he enjoyed every part of the performance. He liked the dancing, singing, and costumes, as well as the messages conveyed.

Mrs. Helson is a judge. She said that they enjoyed the performance immensely. She liked the host and hostess' introduction to every act and the elements at the spiritual level. She thought the truths illustrated in the show was great.

The Chinese culture that the DPA showcased is beautiful, absolutely fantastic

Victor Losoya, a property manager in San Diego, thought the show was beautiful, especially the choreography.

He said that in the 1940s during the Second World War, his family operated a printing plant, printing menus for Chinese restaurants in the San Diego and Los Angeles areas. It was the first company in the area that printed anything in Chinese. He said, "I know a little about Chinese culture. The DPA show presents Chinese culture, which is very beautiful and artistic. I have never seen such a performance."

He said his favorite program was the final piece, "Persecuted on a Sacred Path," where the victim of the persecution goes to heaven. He said he found this piece very moving.

Victor's wife Sandi said that the show was extraordinarily colorful and brilliant and that she was mesmerized by it. She said that she liked the choreography and how the dancers were in sync with each other all the time, "very outstanding." The show also helped her learn about another culture.

The DPA production-level is seamless and unique

David likes studying life. He was the last audience member to leave the theater. He remained in the theater even after the show was over. He was enthusiastic about what he had seen and said, "It was spectacular. Looking at it from all angles, the show conveyed very strong messages. The dances and the orchestra were professional. The audience members will benefit from such a show. They will encourage others to come to see it. The show's production level is seamless and unique."

David thought that each and every program was impressive and that it conveyed many messages, such as that human beings should cherish their spirituality. For him the show was not only entertainment, and he hoped that many people would experience it.

"The show brought peace and harmony. When you leave the theater, you will have a special feeling. Nobody should miss it." He said emotionally that it was an honor for him to be able to see the show. He said that the impressions that the show left on him will forever remain in his memory.
