Mr. Li Chunzeng is a peasant in his 40s, and he is a native of Libazhuang
Village, Beidian Township, Qingyuan County, Hebei Province. Officers from
Beidian Township Police Station and Qingyuan County Domestic Security Division
illegally arrested him on the morning of June 8, 2008, when he was handing out
Falun Gong DVDs to passersby in Niuzhuang Village, Beidian Township. They held
him at Qingyuan County Detention Center. The officials ransacked his home at 10
am on the same day. His daughter Li Yan who was home at the time confronted the
police. Officer Yang Haiguang from Beidian Township Police Station hit her and
incarcerated her at the Baoding Custody Center.
Li Chunzeng's wife went to the Qingyuan County Domestic Security Division and
was told her husband had been sentenced to 18 months at a forced labor camp.
