Today's report relates persecution incidents that took place in 30 cities or counties in twelve provinces. Thirty Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to brutal mistreatment during detention, and at least 36 practitioners were arrested.

1. [Suning County, Hebei Province] Ms. Xing Mingfeng Arrested

Police arrested Ms. Xing Mingfeng from Suning County, Hebei province on July 30, 2008 when she explained the facts about Falun Gong to people. The police ransacked her home and put her into the Hejian County Detention Center in Hebei Province.

2. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhou Hong Arrested

Personnel from the Yunnan Street Police Station arrested Ms. Zhou Hong on the morning of July 18, 2008 when she was distributing Falun Gong truth-clarification CDs to people. The police put her into a detention center.

3. [Handan City, Hebei Province] Police Arrest Ms. Huang Jianling from Her Booth in the Congtai District, Handan City

4. [Zibo City, Shandong Province] Ms. Li Lanhua and Ms. Zhang Yuxia Arrested

Police arrested Ms. Li Lanhua and Ms. Zhang Yuxia from their workplace in Fenghuang Town on July 30, 2008. They are being held in the Zibo City Brainwashing Center.

5. [Nanyang City, Henan Province] Mr. Qin Yongyi and Ms. Yin Shuxia Arrested

Personnel from the Nanyang City Police Department arrested Mr. Qin Yongyi from Nanyang City and Ms. Yin Shuxia from Tongzhaipu Township, Tanghe County on August 1, 2008.

6. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Xia Zhixi Arrested

Personnel from the Hongqi Police Station in Dalian City arrested Ms. Xia Zhixi in August 2008.

The police harassed Mr. Xue Dianshi's family, and Mr. Xue now lives away from home.

7. [Liaocheng City, Shandong Province] Mr. Wang Hongchao Arrested

Personnel from the Domestic Security Division arrested Mr. Wang Hongchao from Gantun Township, Guan County, Liaocheng City on the night of July 26, 2008.

8. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Ms. Lu Jianxiu and Ms. Yan Fengqin Arrested

Five officers from the Songying Police Station broke into Ms. Yan Fengqin's home at 7:00 a.m. on August 27, 2008. They arrested Ms. Yan and Ms. Lu Jianxiu. Later the police ransacked Ms. Lu's home and confiscated a computer, a printer, a copier and some Dafa books. They also arrested Ms. Lu's non-practitioner husband, from whom they extorted 6,000 yuan, and thus he was released the next day.

Ms. Lu was sentenced to forced labor and is being held in the Hebei Province Women's Forced Labor Camp. No family visit is permitted. Ms. Yan is being held in the Nanhuochang Area.

9. [Changli County, Hebei Province] Ms. Guo Yuting and Ms. Liu Fengying Held in the County's Brainwashing Center

Police arrested Ms. Guo Yuting and Ms. Liu Fengying on July 23, 2008. They are being held in the Changli County Brainwashing Center.

10. [Chengde City, Hebei Province] Ms. Bai Shuqin Arrested

Police arrested 60-year-old Ms. Bai Shuqin from the Shuangluan District, Chengde City at the Bishu Resort Park on July 27, 2008.

11. [Chengde City, Hebei Province] Ms. Lou Xianghong Arrested

Police arrested Ms. Lou Xianghong from Chengde City, Hebei Province in Beijing on July 30, 2008.

12. [Yishui County, Shandong Province] Mr. Liu Jiqian Arrested

Mr. Liu Jiqian from Gaozhuang Township, Yishui County was arrested and put into the Qingzhou City Detention Center on August 3, 2008.

13. [Yinan County, Shandong Province] Ms. Qi Yichun and Ms. Wang Ailing Persecuted

The Mamuchi Township Party Secretary broke into 56-year-old Ms. Qi Yichun's home in Mamuchi Township, Yinan County on June 28, 2008. Ms. Qi's Dafa books and a satellite TV receiver were confiscated and Ms. Qi was fined 2,000 yuan.

14. [Chongqing] Several Practitioners Arrested

Personnel from the Nanping Huayuan Street Police Station arrested Mr. Guo Guangrong and several other practitioners from the No. 33 Factory on the morning of July 30, 2008.

15. [Zibo City, Shandong Province] Ms. Lu Guimei and Ms. Liu Li Arrested

Personnel from the Boshan District 610 Office and from the Baita Police Station arrested Ms. Lu Guimei from Shifo Village, Baita Town, the Boshan District, Zibo City on July 29, 2008.

Ms. Liu Li was arrested on July 26, 2008.

16. [Meishan City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Wu Xiaoli Arrested

Personnel from the Dongpo District 610 Office and from the Wansheng Police Station broke into Ms. Wu Xiaoli's home and confiscated a TV, a satellite TV receiver, a laptop computer, a printer and some Dafa books on the night of July 25, 2008. They also arrested her. Ms. Wu had previously been sentenced to one year of forced labor in 2001.

17. [Ruichang City, Jiangxi Province] Mr. Cao Jisong and Ms. Zhu Bishu Arrested

Police from Ruichang City arrested Mr. Cao Jisong and Ms. Zhu Bishu and confiscated a printer and some truth-clarification materials on the afternoon of August 4, 2008.

18. [Tonghua City, Jilin Province] Police Arrest Ms. Zhou Yonghua

Police arrested 45-year-old Ms. Zhou Yonghua from Xintai City at noon on August 4, 2008. They confiscated all of her Dafa materials, a computer and a printer. The total value of these items is 8,000 yuan. Ms. Zhou is being held in the Xintai City Detention Center.

Personnel from the Hongdao Street Police Station arrested Ms. Lu Hongyan from Dongdayang Village, Hongdao Street in the Chengyang District, Qingdao City on the morning of August 5, 2008.

20. [Hebei Province] Mr. Yu Guichang from Shangtaifu Village, Zhuolu County Arrested at 4:00 P.M. on August 4, 2008

21. [Wangkui County, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Zong Chuntao Arrested

Personnel from the Wangkui County Police Station arrested Mr. Zong Chuntao, who was working in Harbin City on July 31, 2008. He is being held in the county's detention center.

22. [Liaoyuan City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Yu Liqiu Arrested

Ms. Yu Liqiu is a teacher from the Dongfeng No.3 Middle School. Personnel from the Dongfeng County Domestic Security Division and from the county's Education Department arrested Ms. Yu on August 4, 2008. They put her into a brainwashing center and coerced her into writing the "Five Statements" to give up Falun Gong.

23. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Wenhua Arrested

Personnel from the Huaxi Police Station in the Ganjingzi District, Dalian City arrested 40-year-old Ms. Wang Wenhua from her booth at a morning market. They put her into the police station and then later transferred her to the Jinnan Street Drug Rehabilitation Center.

24. [Liaoyang City, Liaoning Province] Several Practitioners Arrested

Personnel from the Xuwangzi Police Station arrested Ms. Zhao Junlan, Mr. Zhao, Mr. Li Jun and Mr. Wang Yan from Xuwangzi Village, Liaoyang City on August 2, 2008.

25. [Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province] Personnel from Wenhua Street Police Station Arrest Mr. Li Zhenzhong at 6:00 P.M. on August 5, 2008

26. [Laixi City, Shandong Province] Eighteen Practitioners Arrested

Eighteen practitioners from Laixi City, Shandong Province were arrested on the morning of August 5, 2008 and they were put into the Dashan Detention Center in Qingdao City. They included Ms. Ding Hongai, Ms. Wu Jianfang, Ms. Liu Hong, Ms. Zhu Lixin, Ms. Chen Yufen, Ms. Wang Guizhi, Ms. Zhou Chunhua, Ms. Wu Xiuxin, Ms. Pang Meijuan, Mr. Dai Guoyu and Mr. Liu Jingquan.

27. [Linzhang County, Hebei Province] Mr. Xu Dejin and Ms. Zhang Xiuzhen Arrested

Personnel from the Ducun Township Police Station arrested Mr. Xu Dejin and his wife, Ms. Zhang Xiuzhen, from Ducun Township, Linzhang County on the morning of July 24, 2008. They confiscated Master's lecture tape, CDs, a cell phone and all their Dafa books. The couple is being held in the county's detention center.

28. [Leqing City, Zhejiang Province] Mr. Chen Zhongsheng Held with an Extended Term

Mr. Chen Zhongsheng from Leqing City has been held for two years. His family went to the Shiliping Forced Labor Camp to bring him home on July 28, 2008; however, Mr. Chen had already been transferred into a brainwashing center in Hangzhou City. They were told that he would be released after the Olympic Games.

29. [Nanyang City, Henan Province] Ms. Wang Mingyao Arrested

Personnel from the Zhenping County 610 Office and from the Chengguan Town Police Station in Nanyang City arrested Ms. Wang Mingyao at her home on the afternoon of August 4, 2008. She is being held in a local detention center.

30. [Chongqing] Ms. Wang Zhengfang Arrested

Personnel from the Lianshi Police Station forced Ms. Wang Zhengfang's family to call her back home. Then they put her into the Shengdengshan Brainwashing Center.

31. [Yingcheng City, Hubei Province] Officer Xu Zibin from the Dongmafang Police Station Arrest Ms. Gao Wenxia on August 3, 2008

32. [Mianyang City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Wan Queque Arrested

Police arrested Mr. Wan Queque from Mianyang City, Sichuan Province on the afternoon of July 30, 2008. They confiscated a laptop computer, some Dafa books and a picture with Master's image. Mr. Wan is being held in the Nanshan Yuanyi Detention Center.

33. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Mr. Dong Ming, Mr. An Liguo, Ms. Zhang Fengjun and Mr. Zhu Xiaoguang Being Held in the Fenjin Forced Labor Camp

34. [Tangshan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Dong Shuqing Arrested and Ms. Yang Yinhua's Home Ransacked

Personnel from the Fengrun District 610 Office and from the Xiaobali Police Station broke into Ms. Dong Shuqing's home in the Fengrun District at 4:00 p.m. on August 1, 2008. They put her into the district's detention center and confiscated all of her Dafa books. The police also ransacked Ms. Yang Yinhua's home.

35. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Zheng Bin Put into a Brainwashing Center

Mr. Zheng Bin from Chengdu City is being held in the Wumaping Prison in Sichuan Province. His three-year detention term expired on July 27, 2008, but the police from Shiling Town transferred him from the prison into the Xinjin Brainwashing Center in Chengdu City.
