(Clearwisdom.net) On July 15, 2008, Ms. Zhang Xiuying, a 65-year-old Falun Gong practitioner from Village Number Three of Lingshan Township, Jimu City, Shandong Province, was reported to the authorities while clarifying the facts at a market. She was arrested by officers from Lingshan Township Police Station and Dong Quanqi, head of Comprehensive Management Office. Wang Deyi and another seven or eight police from Lingshan Township Police Station later went to Zhang Xiuying's home and searched her house. They confiscated a satellite antenna, TV, VCD burner, Falun Dafa books and cash.
Zhang Xiuying held a hunger strike at Lingshan Police Station to resist the senseless persecution and to protest the violation of her human rights and religious freedom. She kept calling out "Falun Dafa is Good" and telling the policemen the truth about why the Chinese Communist Party persecutes Falun Gong.
The same afternoon, police from Lingshan Police Station sent Zhang Xiuying to Dashan Detention Center in Qingdao. Zhang Xiuying called out "Falun Dafa is good," "Heaven is eliminating the CCP--Quit the CCP and have a safe future," and the Dashan Detention Center refused to take her. They gave the reason that Zhang Xiuying was on a hunger strike and hadn't had an electrocardiogram. That night, the police at Lingshan Detention Center told Zhang Xiuying, "We are sending you home." But after they arrived outside her home, the policemen told her, " We will let you go as long as you drink some water here in our car." Actually, they tried to trick her into drinking and eating, so they could send her to Dashan Detention Center afterwards. Zhang Xiuying refused, so they took her back to Lingshan Local Police Station.
The next day, the police from Lingshan Detention Center again took Zhang Xiuying to Qingdao to have an electrocardiogram. Zhang Xiuying shouted out "Falun Dafa is Good" in the hospital and persuaded people to quickly quit the CCP. Because of this, she was beaten and verbally abused by Wang Deyi and several other policemen from Lingshan Police Station. They also forced Zhang Xiuying to have an electrocardiogram and some other examinations. Zhang Xiuying resisted and didn't cooperate with them. When it was done, they sent her to Dashan Detention Center. Zhang Xiuying kept clarifying the truth about the persecution of Falun Gong as usual. The detention center again refused to accept her, saying that she was not fit enough and she was too old.
The police still didn't want to give up. In the afternoon, they tried to find any possible way, including pulling strings and using their influence, to send her to the detention center. But the detention center again refused. So all their efforts during these two days turned out to be in vain. On the way back home, out of shame and rage, policeman Wang Deyi slapped Zhang Xiuying's face hard three times and poked her hard on the head, saying, "With people like you, I could dig a hole in the ground and bury you, and no one would know. Next time, I will arrest your son and daughter-in-law."
Zhang Xiuying has been arrested and her home has been searched about ten times, and she has been sent to forced labor camps many times by the Jimu 610 Office, Lingshan Township Local Government, Lingshan Police Station and Lingshan Comprehensive Management Office (which belongs to the 610 Office). Her son Fang Shaoliang is also a Falun Dafa practitioner, and has been arrested about ten times and many times sent to forced labor camps.
On July 16, Zhang Xiuying arrived home safely with righteous thoughts.
