Ms. Xu Yanli is a Falun Dafa practitioner who lives on Bajiaozhong Lane, Shijingshan District, Beijing City. On or around April 20, 2008, she was taken away by police from the National Security Bureau and the Bajiao Police Station of the Shijingshan Police Department.

Her husband Wei Shijun is also a practitioner. Some time ago, he was unjustly sentenced to 12 years' imprisonment by the Chinese Communist Party. He is presently detained in the Qianjin Prison in Beijing. Xu Yanli is disabled. Since July 20, 1999, she was repeatedly arrested by police, yet released each time after she had heart attacks. She has been under surveillance for a long time and her phone was tapped. The company she was formerly employed by fired her, so she and her children have a very hard life. Since her arrest, her son and daughter have been left at home with no one to care for them.

At about 10 a.m. on April 22, 2008, police from the National Security Bureau and the Bajiao Police Station of the Shijingshan Police Department went to search the home of a married couple, Shan Zhiying and He Weikang. The police took away Dafa books, CDs, along with paper money and stamps with truth-clarifying messages written on them. The police also searched the home of Falun Dafa practitioner Chen Xiangdi.
