(Clearwisdom.net) Editors' note: Each time we publish news of this nature, we do so with heavy hearts. These people started off as public servants, but under the intense pressure applied by the Jiang regime, they were pushed into persecuting Dafa disciples. In the process of destroying the lives of kind, law-abiding citizens, they have sealed their own fates and inevitably faced karmic retribution as punishment. If it weren't for Jiang's wicked orders, perhaps their fates would have been different.

Li Daming, head of the Babaishang Police Department in Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province, and a provincial inspection team were on their way to Mingshui at 9 a.m. on September 22, 2008, at taxpayers' expense. The car collided with a cortège bearing a casket on National Highway 202 while inside the Mingshui city limits. The driver of the police car and Li Daming died instantly. The driver worked for Yu Changjun, who is also responsible for persecuting Falun Gong practitioner Jin Miaoqing and his family.

Li Daming instructed his subordinates to arrest Mr. Jin Miaoqing; his wife, Ms. Song Li; and their daughter, Jin Wei. Eight police officers in civilian clothes opened the door with a master key and barged into the Jin home without presenting any identification or warrant. They seized the family and took computers and other personal belongings. They interrogated the family at the police department and struck Ms. Jin Wei, knocking her glasses off. They tied Ms. Song Li to a metal chair. The family's relatives went to the police department to demand the family's release. Li Daming told them each arrested practitioner had to pay 50,000 yuan (about 6,250 USD) and said the family had to write guarantee statements before they would be released.

Officials from the daughter's place of employment bailed her out. She submitted a statement of appeal on behalf of her parents to Li Daming on September 7, 2008. She went to Li Daming again on September 10 and asked to withdraw her appeal. Li Daming demanded to know who wrote the appeal. The police arrested Ms. Jin Wei again the next day and ransacked the family home. They extorted 1,000 yuan from her and held her for 15 days. Li Daming also summoned the relatives whose names were listed on the appeal and intimidated them.

Li Daming was the former head of Shengli Police Station in the Honggang District and deputy head of Honggang Police Department. He became the head of Babaishang Police Department in Daqing City when it was first established at the end of 2004. He had gone along with Jiang Zemin and his regime's orders to persecute Falun Gong since July 20, 1999. He led his subordinates to different agencies where they tried to force Falun Gong practitioners who worked there to renounce their belief. Those that refused were forbidden to go home and those that announced their determination to practice Falun Gong were taken away. He arrested and tortured many practitioners and threatened them, saying, "If you even say the word 'practice' I'll put you in jail."

According to incomplete estimates, Li Daming had arrested 26 practitioners, including people in their 70s and young women in their 20s since he became head of the Babaishang Police Department Most arrests took place in the practitioners' homes or workplaces. During the home arrests, Li Daming and the other officers broke into the homes and grabbed the owners' money and personal belongings.

He and his henchmen immobilized practitioners on metal chairs during interrogations. In the winter they would open the windows and hose the practitioners down with icy water, then strip them naked and make them stand and walk outside in the snow. They smeared the insides of face masks with mustard oil and hot pepper oil and had the practitioners wear them. They wrapped the practitioners' heads in multiple layers of plastic bags, nearly suffocating them before savagely beating them. They burned the practitioners with cigarettes and put the cigarettes under the practitioners' noses, compelled them to listen to ear-piercing noise from MP3 players, and refused to let them sleep. They ordered so-called "specialists" to talk to the practitioners and tell them lies to try to brainwash them, in addition to trying to coerce them to renounce their belief. They detained many practitioners under false charges such as "disrupting the administration of law" or "sabotaging the social order" and sentenced them to prison and forced labor.

Goodness is rewarded and doing evil will reap its own peril. We advise all those who persecute Falun Gong practitioners: Do not follow in the footsteps of Li Daming! Immediately end the persecution! Do not be a willing accomplice to the Chinese Communist Party and make amends for all the damage you have done to those innocent, good people so that you may have a good future!
