The persecution described below involves 10 provinces and 20 cities and counties. Eight practitioners were tortured while in detention and 34 practitioners were illegally arrested.

On August 31, practitioner Ms. Zhou Liyan from Dalian City was arrested and detained in Xinghai Police Station.

On the morning of August 23, practitioners Ms. Li Yunfang and Ms. Zhai Xiuying were trying to clarify the truth of Falun Gong to the Zhuolu County's 610 Office. They were arrested and sent to Wujiagou Town, where police extorted 2,000 yuan from Li Yunfang's family and 1,000 yuan from Zhai Xiuying's family. On the afternoon of August 23, they were released.

On August 24, 2007, Mr. Huang Ligang were reported to the authorities while he was clarifying the truth of Falun Gong. He was arrested by two policemen from the Sizhuang Township Police Station in Wangdu County. Mr. Huang is currently being detained and tortured in the Wangdu County Detention Center.

On August 30, the Jiacun Township police broke into the homes of practitioners Ms. Zu Lanzhen and Mr. Wang Guoqi and forcibly took them to the Wangdu County Detention Center, where these two practitioners have been continuously tortured.

On August 24, 2007, practitioner Ms. Liang Lanzhi from Baoding City was arrested by the Nanguan Police Station, a subordinate branch of the Nanshi District Police Department. She is being detained at the Baoding City Detention Center.

Ms. Zhang Yuzhen, 39 years old, is from Jinxian County, Nanchang City In October 2000, she went to Beijing to clarify the truth of Falun Gong. She was arrested and sentenced to six years of imprisonment. After serving the six-year term in Jiangxi Province Women's Prison, she was sentenced again to three years of forced labor and sent to the Jiangxi Province Women's Forced Labor Camp.

In June 2007, the forced labor camp authorities ransacked the detained practitioners' properties. An electronic book belonging to Mr. Wang Zhigang was confiscated and his right to a monthly family visitation in July was canceled. The camp authorities also extended Mr. Wang's term by a month.

On the evening of August 22, 2007, policemen from the Jiansanjiang Management Bureau, Heilongjiang Province, ransacked homes in the Qixing Farm District and arrested 11 practitioners, including Ms. Zhang Lianfang (over 60 years old), Ms. Li Yanchun (over 60), Ms. Zhang Shouyun, Ms. Chen Fengyan, Ms. Qiao Guifan, Ms. Cao Xiufang, Ms. Zhao Yufang (over 60), Ms. Pan Yuqin, and Ms. Yu Yingzhi and her child, who was attending college at the time.

Currently there are five practitioners being detained in the Qianjin Farm Detention Center. The rest of the practitioners were sent to the Qixing Farm Brainwashing Center. The authorities have denied the families visitation rights.

On the morning of August 29, 2007, practitioner Ms. Jiang Guiying from the Rushan City Cannery, Shandong Province, was arrested and her home ransacked by the local police.

On July 24, 2007, practitioner Ms. Yu Lili from Weifang City was arrested by the Weifang City 610 Office and sentenced to one year of forced labor. She is currently being detained and tortured in Wangcun Forced Labor Camp.

On July 3, 2006, the police from the Gongqiao Town Police Station, Funan County, went to practitioner Mr. Fang Guoxuan's home and arrested his wife, younger sister, and two sons. They were detained and tortured while in police custody.

Ms. Fang's wife and younger sister have been released, his elder son has been sentenced to one year of forced labor, and his younger son sentenced to four years of imprisonment. Currently Mr. Fang is still homeless and wandering the streets to avoid further persecution and torture.

From May to July 2007, the authorities from Fuyang City arrested many practitioners and ransacked their homes. They prepared documents in advance and coerced the arrested practitioners to sign, attesting that they will give up their belief in Falun Gong.

In May, the local 610 Office arrested over 80 practitioners, including Ms. Gao Mingying and Mr. Wei Zhanyou from Fuyang City, and ransacked their homes. Wei Zhanyou, nearly 80 years old, is still being detained at the Fuyang City Detention Center.

From May to July, the authorities of Taihe County arrested 16 practitioners, most of whom were released after paying a fine of 2,000 yuan. Mr. Chen Xiaodong is still being detained in the Taihe County Detention Center.

On the morning of August 25, 2007, practitioner Mr. Han Fazhong's home was ransacked by the local 610 Office in Yinghao Town, Mianchi County. He had to leave home to avoid further persecution.

On August 30, 2007, the police from the Yakeshi City Police Department arrested practitioner Mr. Min Daqing, ransacked his home and confiscated 1,300 yuan and a computer. Currently it is unknown where Mr. Min is being detained.

On August 30, 2007, Mr. Gao Guoyuan was arrested for writing pro-Falun Gong words on paper money and is currently being detained at the Second Detention Center of Dongguan City.

On the morning of September 1, 2007, Ms. Peng from Gutiansi Street was followed and arrested while she was distributing Falun Gong materials. She is nine months into her pregnancy and about to give birth.

On the morning of September 1, 2007, Ms. Han Meicheng, an employee of Demian Corporation, was distributing Falun Gong materials when the local police arrested her. Her home was ransacked later that day. She is currently being detained at the Dezhou City Detention Center.

On July 26, 2007, practitioner Ms. Gao Sulan from Xinxiang County, Henan Province was arrested from home by the National Security Division of the Xinxiang County Police Department and the Qiliying Police Station of Xinxiang County. She has been sent to the Zhengzhou City Shibalihe Women's Forced Labor Camp for a one-year term.

Ms. Guan Yue'ai from Guangzhou City, 65 years old, was arrested by the local authorities on August 25, 2007, while she was clarifying the truth of Falun Gong. The next day her home was searched and ransacked. Her whereabouts are unknown.

On July 29, 2007, practitioner Ms. Gu Yuying was arrested by the Handan City Police Department and detained in the Handan City Second Detention Center. During the early morning of August 26, Ms. Gu managed to escape from the detention center with her righteous thoughts. On the night of August 26, she was arrested again by the local police. The police handcuffed her and shackled her feet.
