(Clearwisdom.net) On April 23, 2007, the police from Wanquan County, Hebei Province arrested Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Yue Yuqi, 66, from his home and put him on trial on June 4, 2007. At the time of the trial, Mr. Yue weighed only 70 pounds due to mistreatment in the detention center. He could not walk into the courtroom, so his son carried him on his back. On the morning of August 13, 2007, five people from the court came to Mr. Yue's home and delivered the sentence of the court to Mr. Yue who was near death. Mr. Yue was arrested and tortured by officers from Wanqua County for practicing Falun Gong, and for wanting to be a good person, and telling people about the beauty of Dafa. Since the beginning of his trial on June 4 to June 22, 2007, he was mistreated so badly that he was near death. During that time Mr. Yue was put on intravenous feeding, and the party members from the court hurriedly called his son from the First Hospital of Zhangjiakou City and asked him to sign his name, saying that it was for medical parole.

At the beginning of August, the party members of the court asked Mr. Yue's family members to get the sentence from the court. When his family members arrived at the court, the court staff inquired about the recent situation of Mr. Yue, and requested that he himself come to get the sentence. The staff even threatened his family members that if Mr. Yue did not come to the court within three days, that his son would be arrested and held hostage.

At that time Mr. Yue was recovering from his poor health in a relative's house. Because of the tremendous pressure, Mr. Yue's son found him and told him about the situation. Even though Mr. Yue was not healed yet, he still came back to his own home to avoid his family members being implicated.

On the morning of August 13, 2007, five party members from the court came to Mr. Yue's house. Seeing that Mr. Yue was near death, they threw the sentence at him and told his family members that it had been handed over to the intermediate court of Zhangjiakou City, and that they could appeal within 10 days.
