San Francisco, USA: Rally Outside the Chinese Consulate Calls for an End to the Persecution (Photo)
(Clearwisdom.net) On July 20, 2007, some Falun Gong practitioners in San Francisco rallied outside the Chinese Consulate to protest the 8-year brutal persecution. They also held a candlelight vigil to commemorate their fellow practitioners who have died as a result of the persecution. The practitioners also urged Chinese people to quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and help end the persecution.
Mr. Wu from San Juan came to participate in the rally after work. He said that it has been verified that more than 3,000 Falun Gong practitioners have died during the persecution and hundreds of thousands practitioners have been incarcerated. In addition, in March 2006, it was revealed that the CCP had been harvesting organs from living Falun Gong practitioners for profit.
"This is a crime never seen before on this Earth, and we urge all kindhearted people to help us end the atrocities." Mr. Wu said.
Ms. Jiang came from Mainland China. One of her best friends in China was relentlessly persecuted because of her belief in Falun Gong. She was first forced to resign from work, and was later arrested and sentenced to 2 years of forced labor re-education. Her father, who was very healthy before, soon passed away as he could not bear to see her plight.
"I have not heard from her for a very long time. Since the atrocities of harvesting organs from living Falun Gong practitioners was exposed last year, I have been particularly concerned for her safety. The CCP can do anything to the practitioners. I hope that the persecution would soon end and I urge all kindhearted people to help us end the persecution." Ms Jiang said.
Several practitioners distributed Falun Gong truth-clarifying materials. After learning about the cause of the practitioners' rally, a passerby said that the CCP is atheist and fears people with a belief system.
San Francisco residents Steve and Mary passed by the consulate and were drawn by the practitioners demonstrating the Falun Gong exercises. After they learned about the persecution, Mary said that she had heard about the CCP taking organs from executed prisoners before, but not from living Falun Gong practitioners. The couple expressed their disagreement with the persecution. "Everyone should have the freedom of belief." Mary said.
